The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the professional associations of the
world’s airlines. It was found in Havana, Cuba, on 19 april 1945. It is a nongovernmental
organization. It is an international trade body, created over 60 years ago by a group of
airlines. It currently comprises 290 airlines from 117 countries, accounting for more than
80% of total air traffic. Over 60 years, IATA has developed the commercial standards that
build a global industry. Today IATA’s mission is to represent, lead and serve the airline
industry.

•INTRODUCTION

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) , specialized technical agency, created as a permanent body on April 4 1947. It
mainly deals with technical part of aircraft. It is assigned by 52 states three years earlier in Chicago. ICAO is dedicated to
developing safe and efficient international air transport for peaceful purposes and ensuring a reasonable opportunity for every
state for operate international airlines.

• INTRODUCTION

Convention on International Civil Aviation (also known as Chicago Convention), The

Convention establishes rules of airspace, aircraft registration and safety, and details the rights

of the signatories in relation to air travel; it also exempts air fuels from tax. The Convention was

signed by 52 states on 7 December 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S., and came into effect on 4

April 1947.

•It's OBJECTIVES :-

It set out as its prime objective the development of international civil aviation “…in a safe and

orderly manner”, and such that air transport services would be established “on the basis of

equality of opportunity and operated soundly and economically".

•INTRODUCTION:-

Signed on 12 October 1929, the Warsaw Convention, formally entitled (Convention for the

Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International Carriage by Air),the Convention for

the Unification of certain rules relating to international carriage by air, commonly known as the

Warsaw Convention, is an international convention which regulates liability for international

carriage of persons, luggage, or goods performed by aircraft for reward.

The creation of a uniform system of regulation for issues such as ticketing, baggage transport,

movement of cargo, and claims by passengers or customers concerning lost or damaged

luggage or cargo, and cap the amount of damages an air carrier could incur in an accident with

•Introduction

The Montreal Convention 1999 (MC99) establishes airline liability in the case of death or

injury to passengers, as well as in cases of delay, damage or loss of baggage and cargo. It is the updated
version of Warsaw Convention. It

unifies all of the different international treaty regimes covering airline liability that had

developed haphazardly since 1929.

•Its OBJECTIVES :-

The primary objectives of the Montreal Convention are: to provide for equitable compensation

for death or injury to passengers, and damage to baggage and cargo, that occur in

international air carriage. To facilitate the efficient operation of international carriage by air of

passengers, baggage and cargo.

•It's AIMS:-

• Replaces the Warsaw Convention where ratified(not adopted in United States).

• Only applies to passengers ticketed for international travel, if approved by all countries involved

in the ‘legs’ of the journey.

• Will not have to prove airline at fault in case of personal injury or death

•Introduction

First Freedom of the Air – the right or privilege, in respect of scheduled international air

services, granted by one State to another State or States to fly across its territory without

landing (also known as a First Freedom Right). ICAO characterizes all "freedoms" beyond the fifth as "so called"
because only the first five "freedoms" have been officially recognized as such by international treaty.

•9 Freedoms are:-

The right to fly over a foreign country without landing.

The right to refuel or carry out maintenance in a foreign country without embarking or disembarking passengers or
cargo.

The right to fly from one's own country to another country.

The right to fly from another country to one's own.

The right to fly between two foreign countries on a flight originating or ending in one's own country.

The right to fly from a foreign country to another while stopping in one's own country for non-technical reasons.

The right to fly between two foreign countries, where the flights do not touch one's own country.

The right to fly inside a foreign country, having started from or continuing to one's own country.

SINGAPORE
• HISTORY:- Singapore has a rich and diverse history. It was originally a fishing village inhabited by indigenous Malays.
Later, it became an important trading port for the British East India Company. Singapore was ruled by the British for
many years until it gained independence in 1965. Since then, it has transformed into a thriving modern city-state with
a strong economy and multicultural society.

➢ SINGAPORE CITY
•Geographical location:-

Singapore is located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, about 85 miles (137 kilometres) north of the Equator.
It consists of the diamond-shaped Singapore Island and some 60 small islets; the main island occupies all but about 18
square miles of this combined area. It is a city-state , connected to Malaysia via a causeway.

•Population:-

Singapore city is the biggest city in Singapore with a population of 5,638,700.

• Climate:-

The climate in Singapore is generally warm and humid throughout the year. It's a tropical climate with no distinct
seasons. The average temperature ranges from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius (77 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit). It's usually
quite sunny, but there can be occasional rainfall as well.

• Geographical location:-

Sentosa Island, known magnanimously as Sentosa, and formerly Pulau Blakang Mati, is an island located off the
southern coast of Singapore's main island. The island has an area of close to 5 km2 (1.9 sq mi). It lies just half a
kilometre (a quarter of a mile) away from the southern coast of the main island of Singapore. It is Singapore's fourth-
largest island (excluding the main island). 70% of the island was covered by secondary rainforest

The current metro area population of Bangkok in 2023 is 11,070,000, a 1.56% increase from 2022.

The climate in Bangkok, Thailand is generally hot and humid throughout the year. It's a tropical savanna climate, which
means it has distinct wet and dry seasons. The average temperature ranges from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius (77 to 95 degrees
Fahrenheit). The wet season typically occurs from May to October, with frequent rain showers and occasional
thunderstorms. The dry season, from November to April, is characterized by sunny and warm weather.

travel. A person with a passport can travel to and from foreign countries more easily and access consular assistance. A
passport certifies the personal identity and nationality of its holder. It is typical for passports to contain the full name,
photograph, place and date of birth, signature, and the expiration date of the passport. While passports are typically
issued by national governments, certain subnational governments are authorised to issue passports to citizens
residing within their borders.

VISA
A visa is a conditional authorization granted by a polity to a foreigner that allows them to enter, remain within, or

➢ Thailand Airport Tax

• Each foreign visitor entering the country by air will be charged 300 baht ($8.84), while those arriving by land or
boat will pay 150 baht.
• In Indian currency it will be INR 734.

➢ Singapore Airport Tax

• The upshot is that a passenger departing from Changi Airport will pay S$59.20 in airport taxes for tickets issued
from 1 November 2022, versus S$52.30 now. This will further increase to S$62.20 from 1 April 2023, and
S$65.20 from 1 April 2024.
• In Indian currency : The fee includes SGD 35.40 (INR 2000) as passenger service and security fee, SGD 6.10 (INR
345) as aviation tax and SGD 10.80 (INR 610) as airport development fee.
