Investiture Ceremony
15 July 2022
A school environment moulds a learner into not just an academic scholar but an overall leader who
will work to enhance the society we all live in.
PNC Cognitio with its four competitive houses hosted its Investiture Ceremony to empower the
budding leaders with the power and authority that they need to collaboratively work with their
school mates and school faculty to execute their ideas, leading to the betterment of the school
atmosphere.
The school, Head Boy and Head Girl were conferred with their batches and sashes by the
Chairman and Managing Trustees, followed by the sports captain and vice-captain by the Director
and Trustee Members. The four house captains and vice-captains were conferred by their
respective house-in-charges. The nine clubs of the school, collectively referred to as the
‘Navratna’, were also handed to senior school students to lead.
For the first time this year, the school introduced positions for young leaders by conferring
them with deputy positions.

Cognitio Sportathon
15 August 2022
It’s the vibrant time for the ATHLETICS to showcase their stamina!
The PNCCS Annual Sports Day – Cognitio Sportathon was held on the Indian Independence Day for
entire grades EY to 12.
Here parents witnessed the ‘zip-zap-zoom’ of young athletes on the racing tracks.
The day started with the chief guest and other dignitaries hosting the Indian national flag in
honour of Independence Day, followed by the declaration of the sports meet.
The four active houses of the school meticulously marched to the beats of PNCCS’s school band
for the first-time, showcasing uniformity, strength and unity in the competitive environment they
are about to encounter.
The event was dazzled by arts performances by the senior students keeping our athletes cheered
and energized to go get ‘em!

Cognifête
23 December 2022
Lights, camera, action! It’s time for the big show to begin as PNCCS geared up, to host its Annual Day
– Cognifête 2023.
The annual festival of the school began with the welcoming of the chief guest of the day: Mr. Lalith
Prasad, Regional Senior Education Manager – Cambridge International, followed by the lighting of the
lamp.
The vibrant colours of the show carefully complimented the cheerful performances of our Cognitians.
The event had it all: musical choir, performance by the band to dazzling dance performances and a
lively play narrating the whole journey throughout!
It was also time for the achievers from Grades 9 to 12 and their parents to feel proud as they were
honoured for their hard work with the Chairman’s Scholarship Award.
The closing ceremony, which thanked the attendees, visitors, and participants for organising the event,
marked the eventful conclusion of the day.

Graduation Day
23 December 2022
PNC Cognitio has come a long way in its educational journey and this year is a milestone as it
became a complete K-12 school with the first batch of grade 12 graduating this academic year.
Twelve Cognitians joined us on stage to share and cherish this special and emotional moment.
Starting the day with the red carpet rolled out for the graduates and their parents. As they
reached their exclusive seats, they were honoured with their graduate moments, including issuing
of certificates, sharing of mementos and a group photo keeping the moments alive throughout!
It was a tearful moment for our faculty as the students with whom they were associated for long
were now ready to start their next chapter of life reaching new heights.
The school Head Boy and Head Girl also had to discharge their duties and hand over the
responsibilities to the next generation, although they will always remain as leaders for PNCCS to
recount on.

The weather always tells what you are thinking

Deep in the mountains, you will discover us.

People all around the world are able to communicate with each other via various social media such
as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more.
In other words, thanks to social media, we have the entire world at our fingertips.
Social media are stereotypically portrayed to be mainly popular amongst teenagers and young
adults, but extend their stranglehold across a wider span of age groups.
Is it possible that anything with this much power and influence may be both good and evil?
In the same way, there are always two sides to every coin, there are various advantages to using
social media.
An example would be their ability to aid children’s education. It merely takes a few clicks to get all
the information one needs.
Although social media provide students with a wealth of educational opportunities amongst other
benefits, like near effortless communication, which is a luxury taken for granted in our modern
era, they pose the significant risk of addiction.
There can be serious consequences of unmoderated social media usage. Hackers may acquire
personal information, or socially engineer victims into installing innocent-looking malware.
Another potential side effect is cyberbullying, which may greatly endanger its weaker victims.
Social media must be consumed in moderation, lest one steps into the bounds of overuse and its
associated ill consequences.

It all started because my teacher gave the whole class a vacation activity to collect different types
of bird feathers. She gave us two weeks’ time to collect at least five different types of feathers.
I despised anything related to nature or animals. So, my family decided to help me out by taking me
to a bird sanctuary. There I understood about many different types of birds.
Luckily for me, they had setup a workshop about bird watching at the sanctuary. They covered many
topics like: how to observe a bird, the best time for bird watching, how to approach a bird gently
without scaring it away, etc. I learned a lot of new things through that. That was the workshop that
changed my life.
Periscope 2022-2023
After listening to that, I felt really interested and inspired to do this activity.
Now I have a collection of over twenty varieties. This is my biggest interest now. There are a lot of
changes in me too. I started waking up early to watch the birds. In hindsight this itself became a
good habit that stuck with me. It has also made me very observant and very patient.
Waking up early in the morning and just sitting alone in the nature really does give a calming effect.
During the summer vacation I went to stay with my grandparents and they were also very excited
about this new hobby. So, we all went to the Thattekad bird sanctuary. There I heard the term
‘Ornithologist’ for the first time. An ornithologist is someone who studies about birds and specializes
in a specific bird species.
From there I learnt many methods to store the feather collection too. If you want to preserve the
bird feathers you can either store them in transparent bags or store them in a file with transparent
sheets or you can have a digital file of feather pictures. I keep a folder specially dedicated for this.
I am waiting for the day it gets completely filled. I hope more people will recognise this hobby and
take it up.

Every Second Is Yours to Enjoy
― Eleanor Roosevelt
I do own my life.
I don’t care about what others think about me and never
listen to how others judge me, or so I wished. Because I
know that everyone has diverse opinions and interests in
their life. That’s why I don’t care about people who judge
and never judge others, as much as I could possibly
benefit from these diverse opinions.
Periscope 2022-2023
As mentioned previously, so many people ask me, “Why do you join these extracurricular activities?
We are at higher grades”, to which I reply, “School & studies are critical and should be important,
but they oughtn’t dominate one’s life. Y ou should do whatever you want to. Because you have only
one life...And our task is to enjoy it with full liberty.”
There might be so many important things in our lives. But never put those in your priority and push
back your happiness.
Self should be one’s utmost priority. I never seek others' opinions or contributions to my life.
Because it’s MY LIFE, not theirs.
For me, me enjoying what I do is important... I don’t care if my friends or others also like it.
Even winning a small quiz is important, a small compliment would always cheer me up. These are
what I call small wins. Let’s celebrate these small wins and enjoy what we have.
I always ask myself, “How much do I care about what others think
about me?”
I have so many people who act like good friends but always really
think bad about me. But, do I take it seriously and stop liking myself
and thinking I’m bad? This is something that will always let us down.
Lastly, the message I would like to convey, is that everyone is born with some prospect of
excellence. What happens next is up to you. You get to decide which path you take, how high to set
the bar for yourself, and how hard you will work to clear it.
You get to decide how to spend your time, who to spend it with, and what you’re keen to forgo
when time sprints. Every alternative that you make and every action that you take has
effects. And you are the only one who knows what is best for you.

Positive Attitude
Attitude speaks about your behaviour, your thoughts, your actions and also about your inner state
of mind.
If No, here lies the question: how to remain positive and how to
have a positive attitude towards everything?
It is very easy and simple if you follow a few things: -
• Connect yourself to the universe, wake up early,
spend one or two minutes looking at the sky,
observe how beautiful the nature is!
• Thank you for all the good things nature has
given to you. Be a thankful person.
• Read a pleasant quote or an inspiring story that will bring positivity.
• Greet people with a smile at your workplace or at home. As a smile is contagious.
• Be optimistic in all situations. If any problem arises, find out the root cause and
work on the solution.
• Never let the past bother you as ultimately what matters to secure our future is
TODAY.
• Always speak good about others, gossiping and cribbing
create negative impacts around you.
• Motivate people around you with positive words. Be a
great source of energy that lifts those around you.
• Be content with whatever you have.
• Learn to forgive and try to be helpful. Instead of
hating a person just ignore them if you don't like them.
• Don't allow others' negativity to bring you down and
also don’t allow you to create negative thought among
others.
• Be true to yourself always, and always associate
yourself with happy people.
• Stay positive always.
• A Positive attitude will make you an optimist and help you avoid worries and
negative thoughts.
• Lead a life full of positivity and be happy always, if you want to make this world a
better place take a look at yourself and make a change.
• "Positive Attitude brightens your life".

How do I begin?
Many legends have been fused into the bones and soaked into the foundations of this place.
Built into the walls brick by brick, tales of unrestrained delight, pride and despair as well as those
of laughter, tears and learning.
Corridors of persistent pursuits, crazy people rush to the skating ground, popcorn bags, ice-
creams and Christmas music, hours spent on stone stairs and under that one tree's shade.
Locating ourselves in an ocean of hues and cries, between competitions, sports, and melodrama
musicals, the years may have gone by, the buildings got larger, the panorama changed, we all may
be little bit colossal, Yet the heart of the journey remains the same.

Experiential learning, in which learners fully engage themselves in a subject, is also known as hands -on
learning. Instead of reading a book in a passive way, learners learn when they actively participate. The
learner's attributes are made tangible through this learning. They hone their collaboration and
