ENGLISH ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION- 2024

Date: Wednesday, 17th July


Level- Secondary
Topic: “Life revolves around people. Describe how one
person has had a significant influence on your life”
THE RULES GOVERNING THE COMPETITION
1. The essay should be written only in English and be NO less than 350 words,
excluding references. If the essay runs over or under the limit of 350 words, 2
marks will be deducted for every 10 words.
2. The competition is open only for the students of Cambridge-7,
3. Cambridge-8, Cambridge -9 & IGCSE Classes.
4. The participant’s name and the name of the class should be written on the Top
of the page.
5. All students will write the essay in the class within 30 minutes in their own
hand-writing.
6. References books, mobile phones are not allowed to keep during the Essay
Writing competition.
7. The essay should be an original piece of work. It should be written in the
Participant’s own words and not copied from any books, articles, or from the
internet.
8. The essay will be written with blue/black pen only. You are not allowed to
use correction fluid.
9. Concerned English teacher will conduct the essay competition during HIS/HER
class teaching time.
10. Assessment marks for the essay completion is 30.

Allocation of marks
i) Accurate understanding and sincerity regarding the topic (10 points)
ii) Creativity and logical coherence of the content (10 points)
iii) Grammar, spellings and words choice (5 points)
iv) Adherence to word limit (5 points

THE RULES GOVERNING THE COMPETITION
1. The essay should be written only in English and be NO less than 300 words,

2. The competition is open only for the students of Grace-4,Faith-5A, Faith-
5B & Glory-6 & English Foundation Classes.
3. The participant’s name and the name of the class should be written on the
Top of the page.
4. All students will write the essay in the class within 30 minutes in their own

THE RULES GOVERNING THE COMPETITION
1. The essay should be written only in English and be NO less than 200 words,
excluding references. If the essay runs over or under the limit of 200 words, 2 marks
will be deducted for every 10 words.
2. Thanks-1A, Thanks-1B,
The competition is open only for the students of
Happy-2A,Happy-2B & Peace-3A& Peace-3B Classes.
3. The participant’s name and the name of the class should be written on the Top of
the page.
4. All students will write the essay in the class within 30 minutes in their own
handwriting.
