About Bangladesh
Bangladesh, country of south-cen-
tral Asia, located in the delta of the
Padma (Ganges [Ganga]) and Ja-
muna (Brahmaputra) rivers in the
northeastern part of the Indian sub-
continent. The riverine country of
Bangladesh (“Land of the Bengals”)
is one of the most densely populated
countries in the world, and its people
are predominantly Muslim. With the
partition of India in 1947, it became
the Pakistani province of East Bengal
(later renamed East Pakistan), one
of five provinces of Pakistan, sepa-
rated from the other four by 1,100
miles (1,800 km) of Indian territory.
In 1971 it became the independent
country of Bangladesh, with its capi-
tal at Dhaka.

and tourist capital of Bangladesh.You

Himchori Park

Himchari National Park is Established in


1980 with an area of 1729 ha, the Him-
chari Park is a beautiful tropical forest
with more than 100 species of trees. It is
near the town of Cox’s Bazar.There are
stairs to ride to the top of the hill from
where a spectacular view of green hills
and blue water is available. The park has
a small waterfall. The nearby sea beach
is a popular beach with red crabs.

Inani Beach
COXS BAZAR

INANI BEACH is considered as the finest


beach of Bangladesh and famous for its
rock and coral boulders. Here you can
see the beauty of hills in one side and
the beauty of the sea on the other side.
Views of sunset and sunrise from this
beach is a memorable lifetime experi-
ence. The clean blue and shark free wa-
ter is suitable for bathing and swimming
without any fear.

Moheshkhali
COXS BAZAR

Moheshkhali is an island that is quite


hilly and fringed with mangroves. You
will enjoy the simplicity of the island and
the lifestyle of the people. This island
is also famous for salt production. Adi-
nath Temple is a famous pilgrimage site
of the island where thousands of Hindu
devotees congregate on an annual occa-
sion.

Saint Martin’s Island
COXS BAZAR

Saint Martin’s, the one and only coral


island of Bangladesh, is a small island
measuring eight square kilometers. The
visible landmass sinks during the tide.
Alternatively called the pearl of the sea,
it is about 10 km from the mainland at
teknaf. The safest means of transport
is the government-owned ferry which
takes around two hours one way. Tour-
ists have the option to spend a few hours
and return the same day or stay for one
or two days.

Sonadia Island
COXS BAZAR

SONADIA ISLAND, a small island of nine


square kilometers of Cox’s Bazar, is a
sanctuary for migratory birds such as
petrels, snipes, shanks, lapwings, geese,
ducks and other waterfowls. A number
of rare species of marine lives such as
green turtles and red crabs can be seen
here.
