Prayer for Safe Travel
(To Tagaytay City)

Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit. Amen.
All: Loving and merciful God, we come to you today as we
prepare for our journey to Tagaytay City for our
strategic planning activity. We ask for your guidance
and protection for our school administrators, heads,
student representatives, and everyone involved in this
trip. Please watch over our drivers, and give them alert
minds and steady hands as they navigate the roads.
May all those traveling on the same path be safe and
secure.
We entrust to you, Lord, our families and loved ones
that we leave behind. Keep them under your protective
care while we are away. Let your divine presence fill
our homes with peace and safety.
As we embark on our journey, we ask for your
blessings, Lord. May our trip be successful, and may
we reach our destination safely.
Lord, as we return home, we pray for a joyous reunion
with our loved ones. May our journey be smooth, and
may we arrive home safely, enriched by the experience
and filled with gratitude for your continuous guidance
and protection. Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
Leader: May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil, and
bring us to everlasting life.

All: Amen.

Opening Prayer
Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit. Amen. Come, Holy Spirit!

All: Loving and Compassionate Father, as we gather today

to commence the Strategic Planning of the Divine
Word College of Legazpi, we seek Your divine wisdom
and guidance. We are here, ready to venture into the
deep, ready to "Duc in Altum", as we strive to map out
the future of our beloved institution.
You have blessed us with the responsibility to mold
young minds, to guide them towards success. We
stand by our promise, "Your success...our Word!" and
we humbly ask for Your guidance as we strive to fulfill
this commitment.
Bless our administrators, deans, principals, heads of
offices, and student representatives who have come
together today. Grant us the wisdom to make decisions
that will benefit our students and our school
community. Inspire us with Your divine wisdom, that
we may craft plans that align with Your will.
As we delve deep into our discussions and dialogues,
let us remember that we are all part of Your grand
plan. Help us to see the larger picture, to understand
our role in Your creation, and to align our plans with
the mission You have set for us.
Bless this gathering, Lord, and guide us as we work
towards a shared vision. Keep our minds clear and our
hearts open to Your divine guidance. May our efforts
today shape a brighter future for our students and
glorify Your name.
We ask all this through Jesus Christ, the Divine Word.
Amen.
Leader: May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil, and
bring us to everlasting life.
All: Amen.

Prayer before meal
Loving Father, we pause in the midst of this day to acknowledge
Your presence. As we prepare to partake in this meal, we thank
You for the hands that have prepared it, for those who have
labored in the fields and the sea, to bring us these blessings from
Your creation.

We pray for those who are without food, may they be provided for
by Your divine providence. Let our hearts be always conscious of
the needs of others.

As we share this meal, we thank You for the fellowship that we

share, for the peace and love that prevails amongst us. Bless our
discussions and grant us the wisdom to make the right decisions
for the Divine Word College of Legazpi.

Bless this food and drinks. We ask this through Jesus Christ, the
Divine Word. Amen.

Lord, we thank You for this meal, for every single bite was a gift
from You. We thank You for the nourishment it brings to our
bodies and the energy it provides for our work.

service to us is a testament of Your love. We pray that You bless
them and their families, just as they have blessed us with this
meal.

As we conclude our meal, we pray that our work for the Divine
Word College of Legazpi continues to be fruitful and that our
efforts serve Your purpose. We remember those who have less, and
we ask that You provide for them in their time of need.

Thank You, Lord, for Your unending grace and blessings. We ask
this through Jesus Christ, the Divine Word. Amen.

GOSPEL READINGS

APRIL 24, 2024 Jn 12:44-50

Jesus cried out and said,
“Whoever believes in me believes not only in me
but also in the one who sent me,
and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me.
I came into the world as light,
so that everyone who believes in me
might not remain in darkness.
And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them,
I do not condemn him,
for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world.
Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words
has something to judge him: the word that I spoke,
it will condemn him on the last day,
because I did not speak on my own,
but the Father who sent me
commanded me what to say and speak.
And I know that his commandment is eternal life.
So what I say, I say as the Father told me.”

APRIL 25, 2024 Mk 16:15-20

Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them:
“Go into the whole world
and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe:
in my name they will drive out demons,
they will speak new languages.
They will pick up serpents with their hands,
and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them.
They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them,

was taken up into heaven
and took his seat at the right hand of God.
But they went forth and preached everywhere,
while the Lord worked with them
and confirmed the word through accompanying signs.

9
APRIL 26, 2024 Jn 14:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Prayer Before the Assembly

(Adsumus Sancte Spiritus)

Every session of the Second Vatican Council began with the

prayer Adsumus Sancte Spiritus, the first word of the Latin original
meaning, “We stand before You, Holy Spirit,” which has been
historically used at Councils, Synods and other Church gatherings
for hundreds of years, being attributed to Saint Isidore of Seville (c.
560 - 4 April 636).

We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather

together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in
our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to
pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote
disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor
partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey
together to eternal life and not stray from the way of
truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place
and time, in the communion of the Father and the
Son, forever and ever.
Amen.

Leader: We thank you for having protected us today in your

fatherly kindness and for having blessed our work.
All: Whatever we received today, was a perfect gift coming
down from you, O Father of light. Whatever we did in
the line of the duty of our vocation, we accomplished
through your grace, by which you activate every talent
in everyone (1 Co 12: 6). Whatever labor and pain we
bore, in all things that were for our good, you worked
together with those who loved you (Ro 8:28). We give
you thanks for all these blessings.
Examination of Conscience

Leader: O Holy Spirit, light of hearts,

All: Enlighten us to thank you for your blessings and
correct our faults with sincere penance.

(One minute pause)

13

before us always.

in your sight.

spirit take not from us.
