Training leaders for Christ

Im planting a new church...
This statement was repeated many times during Quiques time in El Salvador. Meeting at a local church, over 140 pastors attended a conference on leadership and pastoral ministries. Graciously, organizers of the event gave Quique the opportunity to present ProMETAs ministry to the group. [email protected] [email protected]

Testimonies from our students

A joy for us is to hear from our students how ProMETA is equipping them to serve the Lord. Esau is an example we want to share with you. Of his studies at ProMETA, he says: After graduating from seminary, I kept the desire to continue my theological studies, but it was impossible for me due to time demands and the high cost of courses. However, God placed ProMETA in my way, and from that moment I restarted again the experience of systematic learning. At the present, this is my sixth year of studies and my goal is to finish the master program next year (I have four more courses to go).

As Quique presented ProMETA, people at home were praying that a large number of these leaders would take advantage of our programs.

Current news this term

We welcomed 49 students to our virtual classrooms this fall. Praise the Lord! What a blessing to receive 17 new students into our learning community - and we added a new country as we admitted and enrolled our first student from Paraguay. Six of our students are enrolled in more than one course. Students could choose from nine courses this term: Teaching and Learning, Theology of the Christian Life, Panorama of Theology, Spiritual Development II, Inductive Bible Study, Interpretation of Exodus, Motivating the People of God to Serve, Biblical Interpretation in a Postmodern World, and Research Methods (this last course is being taught by Quique and Dr. Pike).

During the meetings Quique witnessed the eagerness of the pastors for whatever training is offered to them, especially those who are planting churches. Many expressed the sentiment found in other settings: they have the commitment, but not much knowledge about how to lead a church. They are frustrated because they are working hard, but with no significant results after years of trying to grow a church. We at ProMETA want to reach out to these leaders with accessible Bible training and equipping.

2012 BUDGET
As we approach the end of 2011, we face an important challenge. The Lord is giving us significant opportunities, but we will need to raise $600.00 a month of extra support to take advantage of them. Would you, please, consider helping us to continue training leaders and serving Bible schools in Latin America? Please hold the control key and click here www.efca.org/give-now to increase or give us new support.

PRAYER REQUESTS
1. Pray that many leaders would enroll in our new Ministerial Courses program. 2. Pray for Quiques heavy travel schedule, for safety and wisdom as he works with other Christian schools. 3. Pray for Quiques students this term, that they would find time to rest and reflect, in light of their many ministerial responsibilities. 4. Pray for Becky as she gives leadership to the Ministerial Courses program.
