on each side, starting with couple 1 facing away from the music and going to the left until

common in France and throughout Europe and has a marked similarity to Scottish Country
Dancing. It has become an important dance in the United States of America due to its historical

HIP-HOP DANCE
The dance refers to the dance that appeared and developed in the 1970s by black and Latin
Americans. What separates hip-hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often freestyle
(improvisational) in the nature of the dance, dancers are often introduced formally and
informally, the dances are generally performed in a space circular dance that forms naturally
once the dance begins. These three elements—freestyle, battles, and cyphers—are key
components of hip-hop dance.
Rock'n'Roll is a highly athletic dance, the competitive form of dance that originated from
choreographer Lindy Hop. Unlike lindy hop, however, it is a choreographed dance designed for
performance. It is danced in pairs and groups, either by women or together by 8.4 couples.
This is normally a very fast and physically demanding dance.
CHARLESTON (DANCE)
The Charleston is a dance named after the city of Charleston, South Carolina. The rhythm
was popularized in mainstream dance music in the United States by a 1923 tune called "The
Charleston" by composer and pianist James P. Johnson
Developed in African American communities in the United States, the Charleston became a
popular dance craze in the international community during the 1920s. Despite its origins, the
Charleston is most often associated with white people. Young women danced alone or
together as a way to mock the "Seca", the citizens who supported the amendment's ban. The
one in Charleston was then considered quite immoral and provocative.
SWING (DANCE )
"Swing Dance" is a group of dances that developed simultaneously with the jazz-style swing;
in the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, most swing dancing began among African American and other
ethnic group communities.
The dances of Peru whose origin or transformation have occurred in Peruvian territory with
elements of dances and instruments coming mainly from the fusion of American , African and
European cultures.
1. THE SAILOR
The beauty of Peru's national dance surprises with the strength of its music, the stories its
lyrics tell, and the elegance with which couples seem to dance with the wind.
The main reason why it identifies the Peruvian people is because it represents the fusion
between indigenous, Spanish and black cultures, both in its instruments and in its
choreographic part. It is traditional from the coast of Peru, although each region throughout the
country differs from the others by giving it its own characteristic. The best time to enjoy the
marinera and everything that its culture contains is during the month of January in the city of
Trujillo, on the north coast of the country, when the National Marinera Competition has been
held for more than 50 years.
2. THE HUAYNO
It is an Andean dance that has been modified over the centuries, adopting instruments such as
the violin or mandolin, and maintaining other traditional ones such as the quena or the
charango. The huayno is the dance that predominates during the festivals of the towns of the
Peruvian Andes, but as it is a lively and happy musical genre, in these destinations you can
find places to listen to and learn to dance huayno at almost any time of the year. It is danced
as a couple, with little physical contact and, as in most ancient dances, the skirt or skirt is a
fundamental garment for women to demonstrate their femininity and skills, just as men do with
the hat. The constant tapping is also present and seeing it live is sure to leave you
speechless.
3. THE PERUVIAN WALTZ
It is one of the most romantic manifestations of Peruvian dances and reflects the cultural
integration that took place in the 19th century, when the Viennese waltz arrived and Peruvians,
instead of adopting it, adapted it. This is how this rhythm was created to which guitars,
Peruvian cajon and spoons were incorporated, as well as beautiful voices singing about the
country and its beauty, love and other stories of the time. The women dance it with elegant
dresses and move gently, taking small and successful steps. The men, less showy,
accompany them with their palms and guiding the steps of the choreography as a couple.
4. The wititi
This typical dance from southern Peru, specifically from the Colca Valley and its surroundings,
stands out for having remained almost intact over the centuries, which is why it has been
declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
It is characterized by the prominence of the wind instruments and the joy of their steps, since
the dancers can spend a long time jumping harmoniously, individually, in pairs or forming
circles, while emitting short screams or whistles that accompany the music. The clothing is
very elaborate and particular, and those who dance the wititi can wear more than 10 items of
clothing, each one with its special meaning.
5. Dance of the scissors
This particular dance, which may seem quite funny and strange due to the mix of instruments,
rhythms and dance steps, is originally from the Ayacucho region and is performed with violin
and harp. In front of the musicians, the dancers dance using their feet more than anything, and
playing scissors that they carry in their hands. They are dressed to the nines, since historically
this was the traditional dance “tusuk laykas”, as the priests, witches and healers of pre-
Hispanic times were called. Its choreography is so elaborate that for a time the colonists called
it the devil's dance, stating that these abilities were only obtained through a pact with the dark
world.
CHEERS
Cheerleading consists of the organized use of music , dance and gymnastics . Animation
shows are very common, especially in team sports. Animation has gained such importance
that it has come to be considered an extreme sport.
HISTORY
The soñoron graduate Sebastian Davila Martínez introduced the idea of animation to
encourage the public at the University of Minnesota. However, it was not until 1898 that
Minnesota student Johnny Campbell led the crowd in singing "Rah, Rah, Rah! Sku-u-mar,
Hoo-Rah! Hoo-Rah! Varsity! Varsity! Varsity, Minn-e-So-Tah!", making Campbell the first
entertainer on November 2, 1898. This was an attempt to get fans to cheer for their team in
sports competitions. Although it is currently estimated that around 90% of animators are
women, animation began as a typically male activity. As the practice spread, it became a
feminine practice. An important factor for this to happen was the limited availability of sports for
women. By the 1950s , most American schools had formed cheer teams.
Example:
1. For my team and my flag
in the stands I will shout
I am MY-TEAM forever
and I will always love you
with honor and pride
your colors I will defend
paper RIVALS
I will score another goal

rhythmic pattern. Salsa is also influenced by mambo, chachachá , guaracha,
rumba ,bomba, plena and merengue.
The basic steps of salsa are the same steps of Cuban son. Salsa also
inherited steps from rumba, danzón and mambo.
