1. Pick the keywords wisely:

When conducting keyword research for YouTube strategy, it's important to choose

keywords that have a good search volume but are not overly competitive. This means

selecting keywords that have enough search traffic to make it worth targeting, but not so

much competition that it's difficult to rank for them. This approach can help achieve better

results in efforts by targeting keywords that are easier to rank for and still generate

significant traffic.
2. Use keywords in video title:

To improve the visibility of video in search results, it's essential to use relevant keywords in

the video title. This helps search engines understand the content of the video and match it

with relevant search queries from users. By choosing the right keywords for video title, it

can increase the chances of video appearing in search results and attracting potential

viewers. Remember to prioritize keywords that are most relevant to the target audience and

align with the content of video.

3. Include the keyword in video file:

By choosing the right keywords for the video title, it will increase the chances of the video

appearing in search results and attracting potential viewers.

4. Optimize the YouTube video description:

To optimize the video description, make sure to include a concise summary of the video's

content and use relevant keywords in the description. It’s better to keep the video

description to no more than 200 words, as this is the optimal length for search engine

visibility and user engagement.

5. Use video hashtags to drive YouTube search results:

When adding hashtags to the video, choose popular keywords that are relevant to video's

topic and include in both the video description and title. Use a maximum of 3-4 hashtags per

video to avoid making the description look spammy or overwhelming for viewers. It's also

important to research popular hashtags within niche or industry and incorporate them into

the video descriptions and titles. This can help increase the visibility of video in search

results and attract more viewers who are interested in your content.

6. Select a video category:

YouTube offers a variety of category options to choose from, ranging from entertainment to

education, news, and more. When selecting a category for the video, consider the primary

topic or theme of your content and choose the category that best fits.
7. Customize your thumbnail image:

A good thumbnail can grab the viewer's attention and entice them to watch the video, while

a bad thumbnail can turn them away. A visually appealing and relevant thumbnail that

accurately represents the content of the video can help increase click-through rates and

engagement, leading to higher watch time and better rankings on YouTube.

8. Add subtitles and closed captions:

Subtitles are used to display a written transcription of the audio dialogue in a video, for

viewers who may not understand the spoken language. Subtitles can be used for a variety of

reasons, including translation of a video into multiple languages, or making it easier for

viewers to understand accents or dialects.

Closed captions, on the other hand, are used to display a written transcription of the audio

dialogue as well as any sound effects, music, or other audio cues that may be important to

the video's content. Closed captions are intended for viewers who are deaf or hard-of-

hearing and may not be able to hear the audio.

9. How to create Chapter:

• Make sure 00:00 or 0:00 timestamp to “activate” this feature.

• Timestamps need to have at least 3 characters (3 or more characters without any

spaces in between).

• Video must contain more than 3 chapters.

• Video chapters won’t work if they’re shorter than 10 seconds.

10. Chapter Formatting:

• Make sure use a colon (:) instead of a semi-colon (;) or a period (.) when adding

chapters.

• Add a space between the timecode and the chapter title. E.g. 00:00 - Intro or 20:15

• For videos with length shorter than 10 minutes, use the format m:ss.

• For video with length between 10 minutes and 59 minutes, use the format mm:ss.

• For video that stretches longer than 60 minutes, use the format hh:mm:ss.

Subscribers:

• Channel needs at least 1,000 subscribers threshold to add YouTube chapters.

• YouTube chapters won’t work if the channel doesn’t have enough subscribers.

Note: Click on Settings > Upload defaults > Advanced settings and check the Allow

automatic chapters option.
