Participation Guidelines - OWD 2024
We are delighted that you are part of this Online Course, and we wish you a fruitful, rewarding
and enjoyable learning experience.
In order to successfully participate in this programme, you will need to have an account with the
IACA e-Learning platform and access to MICROSOFT TEAMS MEETING
While all the live sessions will be streamed via Teams Meeting, all the self-study materials,
recorded sessions, the final assessment, and the course discussion forum will be available
through the IACA e-Learning platform.
Teams Meetings
• Please get familiar with teams meeting before the programme starts
• When accessing the Teams Meeting, please use your full name in the format First Name,
Last Name so that IACA staff/meeting host can identify and admit you to the live session.
• Detailed instructions on how to register and enroll for the course are provided in the
attached document.
• Please write to us at [email protected] in case of any technical difficulties.
• The learning materials for first week will be available from Monday 27 May 2024, 00:00
CET.
The programme consists of recorded video(s), reading materials, discussion forum, a final
assessment exercise and weekly live sessions. You will be required to go through all the materials,
attend the live sessions and pass the final assessment to obtain your certificate.
Live Sessions: The schedule for the live session is as below and is also available on the eLearning
platform.
Live sessions will be held on Thursday 6, 20 and 27 June and exceptionally on Wednesday
on 12 June 2024 at 14:00 CET
The live sessions are 1,5 hours long and they will be recorded and uploaded on the IACA
learning platform for the benefit of those who cannot participate during the live sessions.
Please take note you are required to attend sessions and each live session attendance and
participation contributes to 10% of the course pass grade.
Links for all the live sessions are available on the e-Learning platform and they will also be shared
via email invites.

The live sessions can be joined 15 minutes before the indicated start time. Participants are
encouraged to log in early in order to check their connectivity and access prior to the start of the
respective session.
In order to intervene during a presentation please click the raise your hand feature, and the host
will proceed to give you the floor during the session or at the end of the session depending on
the lecturer’s preference.
Please remember to mute your microphone after your intervention during the live sessions.
Pre-recorded Videos: All recorded video lectures for the course will be available on the E-Learning
platform. Please do make sure to go through all of them, as they are a critical part of the learning
experience. Pre-recorded videos are available in line with the course schedule on the learning
platform.
Reading Materials: All reading materials can be accessed on the E-Learning platform.
Final Assessment Exercise: The final assessment quiz will be open from 17 June until course
end. Please prepare for the assessment by going through all study materials. The final
assessment contributes 60% to the final pass grade.
Discussion Forum: Through the discussion forum you will have the opportunity to engage the
lecturer and other peers participating in this course. We encourage you to actively make use of
this platform to ask, share, reflect, and exchange ideas with others as well as to network.
System Requirements:
Participants are advised to make sure that their devices have sufficient power to last the entire
duration of the live sessions.
IACA abides by the Chatham house rules, and therefore it is strictly forbidden for participants to
record the sessions, including the parts of the sessions and Q&A. However, IACA will record the
sessions and make them available only on the IACA learning platform.
Certificates
Electronic Certificates will be available, on the learning platform, for download, upon successful
completion of all course activities and evaluation.
Please be advised to enter/ provide your full names with the last name in caps
(e.g Getrude Shona MHLANGA) on the IACA learning platform. This is important because these
are the names that will appear on your certificate.
At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to evaluate the training programme. The
evaluation form is available on the learning. Thank you for your feedback as it helps us to improve
our services and your learning experience.

Participants who successfully complete this training are eligible to join the IACA Alumni
Association.
We will also share the list of participants with contact details within the Community. If you do not
wish to be in that list – please inform IACA in advance.
