This Question Paper has eight printed pages.

first 15 minutes. This time must be spent in reading the Question Paper.
The time given at the head of this Paper is the time allowed for writing answers.

This Paper is divided into two sections.


Answer all the parts of Q No 1 (Section A) and any four questions of Section B.
Maximum marks for a question or part of a question are given in brackets [ ].

SECTION A (40 marks)

Answer all the parts.

Question No 1

(a) Name the following: [5]

(a) (i) Draw a neat and well labelled diagram of the cross-sections of an artery and
a vein. [3]

(ii) Differentiate between an artery and a vein on the basis of the following: [2]

(B) direction of flow of blood with respect of heart

(b) A pondweed was placed in a test tube containing pond water and exposed to strong
sunlight. Bubbles were obseved. Study the experiment and answer the following
questions:
