Annamacharya describes eloquently in this kriti the life led by a jiva, shrouded in mAyA
created by his senses and being unaware (avidya) of the inner dwelling Spirit. He explains
how a jiva's actions are influenced by the accumulated results from actions of previous lives
(sanchita karma).
Pallavi
(Jiva does not know who one is or where one came from. He or she is just an image, amsha,
of the Lord).

(In this world, Jiva engages in all activities and 'pleasures,' and experiences consequences in
the other worlds. While living in the body (dehabuddhyAt), jiva goes through all the
attachments (bandhamulu) caused by results of activities in previous lives (karma) and
spends the life engrossed in them).

actions (karma). Sri Venkatesvara is the indwelling Spirit in all. Only one that understands
and realizes this leads the real life).
