This kirtana is a bhajana sampradaya kirtana. In this Annamayya chants the name
of one of the incarnations of Vishnu as Narasimha, the protector of his devotee,
young Prahlada (Prahlada varada), who appears in the form of half man with a
lion's upper body to slay the demon Hiranyakasipu.
