1.Valentines day is coming and as a student leader your organization needs
to make a project proposal. However, some of your co-members aren’t
available. What are you going to do?
A. Make a schedule of meeting because their feedback is important.
B. You decide what to do because you’re the person who is available.
C. Tell them that you are also busy and command the secretary.
D. You will tell them that it’s their duty to attend meeting despite their hectic
schedule.

Leadership Styles
It refers to a leader’s methods and behaviours when commanding, making
decision, directing, motivating, and managing others. A person’s leadership
style determines how they make plans and implement the project/event while
accounting for the expectations of stakeholders and the well-being of their
team.
Knowing your leadership styles may help you improve with limited feedback.
Each leadership style has its pitfalls, allowing you to proactively address areas
of improvement. This is critical because some employees might hesitate to
speak up, even in an anonymous survey.

1. Democratic Leadership (Participative or Facillitative Leadership)


It is exactly what is sounds like from the word democracy. The leader makes
decision days on their members suggestion and even though the leader makes
a decisions everyone still have an equal right and opinion for the project.

- Supportive and Empathetic
- Collaborative
- Effective Communicator
- Empowering
- Trust Building

2. Autocratic Leadership (Authoritarian, Coercive, or Commanding


Leadership)
The complete opposite of democratic leadership. In this leadership style the
leader makes decisions without knowing the opinion of anyone.

Characteristics of Autocratic Leadership


- Centralized decision-making
- Limited autonomy for team members
- Resistant to feedback or criticism

3. Laissez-Faire Leadership (Delegative or Hands-off Leadership)


The french word “laissez-faire” means “let them do.” The leaders who
practice this type of leadership style dont often interject unless the situation
calls for it.

Characteristics of Laissez-Daire Leadership


- Limited guidance, direction, and feedback
- Minimal Interference and Control
- High autonomy and Freedom
- Empowerment and Trust
4. Transformational Leadership
Leaders who practice this type of leadership style always gain the trust and
confidence of their teams, encourage team members, and lead employees to
meet the company goals. They also motivates employees to grow and develop
their skills. Overall, the goal of this leadership style is to create positive impact
to achieve their full potential and to achieves success.

- Enthusiasm
- Progressive
- Motivational

5. Bureaucratic Leadership
This leadership style always follow the rules they might listen and
consider the feedback but they may reject it if it doesn’t aligned with the
company policy or its practices.

Characteristics of Bureaucratic Leadership


- Strict to rules, procedures, and regulations
- Clear chain of command
- Limited to autonomy

6. Visionary Leadership (Affiliative Leadership)


This type of leadership style focuses on future and long term goals they aim
to inspire and guide their teams to achieve their shared vision. The type of
leader who practices fostering a culture of innovation and encouraging
individuals to embrace new ideas and approaches.

Characteristics of Visionary Leadership


- Sets a long-term vision
- Creates a strategic plan to achieve that vision
- Empowers others to collaborate towards that shared goal
7. Pacesetting Leadership
A pacesetting leader set ambitious standard and expects employess to commit
those standards. This leader expect high quality outputs from their members
and ensure things are done correct and on time.

Characteristics of Pacesetting Leadership


- High standards
- Leading by example
- Results-oriented
- Fast and Efficient

8. Situational Leadership
The leaders who practice this style change their time to meet the needs of
situations or adopt at a certain problem. This suggest that effective leaders
must adapt to their surroundings.

Characteristics of Situational Leadership


- Analyzing specific situations
- Assessing the competence and commitment of individuals
- Adjusting leadership approach
