Baang-e-Dara: 41 The Call of The Marching Bell: 41 Subah Ka Sitara Morning Star Lutf-e-
Humsayegi-e-Shams-o-Qamar Ko Chorun Aur Iss Khidmat-e-Paigham-e-Sehar Ko Chorun
Enough of this sun‐and‐moon neighboring glory— Enough of this office of heralding dawn!
Mere Haq Mein To Nahin Taron Ki Basti Achi Iss Bulandi Se Zameen Walon Ki Pasti Achi
Worthless to me the abodes of the planets, Lowly earth‐dwelling is more than these heights
Aasman Kya, Adam Abad Watan Hai Mera Subah Ka Daman-e-Sad Chaak Kafan Hai Mera I
inhabit, to heaven but a realm of extinction, Dawn’s skirt of the hundred‐fold rent for my shroud:
Meri Qismat Mein Hai Har Roz Ka Merna Jeena Saqi-e-Mout Ke Hathon Se Saboohi Peena To
live, to die daily my fate, to be poured The morning‐draught first by the cup-bearer Death. Na Ye
Khidmat, Na Ye Izzat, Na Ye Riffat Achi Iss Ghari Bhar Ke Chamakne Se To Zulmat Achi
Thankless this duty, this station, this dignity— Better the dark then to shine for one hour! Meri
Qudrat Mein Jo Hota To Na Akhtar Banta Qa’ar-e-Darya Mein Chamakta Huwa Gohar Banta
No star would I be, if it lay in my will, But a gleaming white pearl in the cavernous sea, Waan
Bhi Moujon Ki Kashakash Se Jo Dil Ghabrata Chor Kar Behr Kahin Zaib-e-Guloo Ho Jata And
then, if too fearful the strife of the waves, Leave ocean, and hang in some necklace—what joy
Hai Chamakne Mein Maza Husn Ka Zaiwar Ban Kar Zeenat-e-Taj-e-Sar-e-Bano-e-Qaisar Ban
Kar It would be there to glitter as beauty’s bright pendent, A gem in the crown of an emperor’s
consort! Aik Pathar Ke Jo Tukre Ka Nasiba Jaaga Khatam-e-Dast-e-Suleman Ka Nageen Ban Ke
Raha What fragment of stone, if its destiny smiled, Might not flash in the ring on the finger of
Solomon? Aesi Cheezon Ka Magar Dehr Mein Hai Kaam Shikast Hai Guhr Haye Giran Maya
Ka Anjaam Shikast But glory of all such in this world must vanish, The rich gem must vanish at
last. Zindagi Woh Hai Ke Jo Ho Na Shanasaye Ajal Kya Woh Jeena Hai Ke Ho Jis Mein
Taqazaye Ajal That alone Lives, that need have no acquaintance with death: Can that be called
life, that hears death’s importunity? Hai Ye Anjaam Agar Zeenat-e-Alam Ho Kar Kyun Na Gir
Jaun Kisi Phool Pe Shabnam Ho Kar! If, making earth lovely, our end must be thus, Let me
rather be changed to a flower‐falling dewdrop, Kisi Paishani Ke Afshan Ke Sitaron Mein Rahun
Kisi Mazloom Ki Aahon Ke Shiraron Mein Rahun A speck in the gold‐dust that paints a bride’s
forehead, A spark in the sigh that a wounded heart breathes— Ashak Ban Kar Sir-e-Mazgan Se
Atak Jaun Main Kyun Na Uss Biwi Ki Ankhon Se Tapak Jaun Main Jis Ka Shohar Ho Rawan
Ho Ke Zrah Mein Mastoor Sooye Maidan-e-Dagha, Hub-e-Watan Se Majboor Yaas-o-Umeed
Ka Nazara Jo Dikhati Ho Jis Ki Khamoshi Se Taqreer Bhi Sharmati Ho Jis Ko Shohar Ki Raza
Taab-e-Shakeebai De Aur Nigahon Ko Haya Taqat-e-Goyai De Zard., Rukhsat Ki Ghari, Aariz
Gulgoon Ho Jaye Kashish-e-Husn Gham-e-Hijar Se Afzoon Ho Jaye Lakh Woh Zabt Kare Par
Main Tapak Ho Jaun Saghir-e-Didah-e-Purnam Se Chhalak Ho Jaun Khak Mein Mil Ke Hayat-
e-Abdi Pa Jaun Ishq Ka Souz Zamane Ko Dikhata Jaun To find in the dust an immortal new life,
And teach to the world the long passion of love.
Aasman Jalti Zameen Per Nahi Aane Wala
Ab Yahan Koi Payamber Nahi Aane Wala
Piyas Kehti Hay Chalo Rait Nichorri Jae
Apne Hisse Main Samandar Nahi Aane Wala
Mangne Nikla Hay Insaf,KHUDA Khair Kare
Aaj Ki Rat Wohi Bach Kar Nahi Aane Wala
Mulk-O-Millat Ki Hifazat Tumhen Khud Karni Hay,
Ab Ababilon Ka Lashkar Nahi Aane Wala
Kitab sada raheygi kb tk?
kabhi to aaghaz-e-baab hoga,
Jinhon ne basti ujar dali
Kabhi to unka hisab hoga,
Sheher ki khushyan mananay walo,
Shehr k tewar bta rahey hain,
Abhi to itni ghuttan barhay gi
k sans lena azab hoga,
Wo din gya jb k hr sitam ko,
Ada-e-mehboob keh k chup thay,
Uthay gi hum pr jo eent koi,
To pathr uska jwab hoga,
sakoot-e-sehra me bsnay walo,
Zra ruton ka mizaj smjho
Jo aj ka din sakoon se guzra,
To kal ka mosam khrab hoga.

You shall never attain righteousness unless you spend from what you love. Whatsoever you
spend, Allah is fully aware of it.

And when Musa (Moses) came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord spoke to him, he

Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifq (hypocrisy)].
Do not ask of these Devotees, if you have faith, you should look at them
They have the illuminated palm up their sleeves
For Love search for some heart which would become mortified
This is the wine which is kept in delicate wine glasses

Whose was the fateful wrath which made all idols shrink in terror just?
“There is no god but God,” they cried, as crumbling down they kissed the dust.

Chief of warriors, I have witnessed your array;
Their sheaths are devoid of the sword of Say: 'He is Allah'

O Cup-bearer! Time has gone when wine was taken secretly.
The whole world will become a wine-seller shop, everyone will be drinking
The caravan of the feeble ants will make fleet of rose petals
However strong the ocean waves’ tumult(uprising) be, it will cross the ocean
Chaman Mein Lala Dikhata Phirta Hai Dagh Apna Kali Kali Ko
Ye Janta Hai Ke Iss Dikhawe Se Dil Jalon Mein Shumar Ho Ga
The Lala (a bird), shows its spots to every flower-bud in the garden.
Knowing that by doing this it will be among the Love haters
As I told the turtledove one day the free of here are treading on dust!
The buds started saying that I must be the knower of the garden’s secrets!
Khuda Ke Ashiq To Hain Hazaron, Bannu Mein Phirte Hain Mare Mare

There are thousands of God’s Lovers, who are roaming in the wilderness
I shall adore the one who will be the lover of God’s people

Teri Khudi Ke Nigheban Nahin To Kuch Bhi Nahin
Your reveries deep and rapture sweet, Your worship at the midst of night,
If fail to keep a watch on self, Are useless quite and have value slight.
The intellect can cast its noose on the Pleiades and the Moon;
If heart is bʹreft of love for God, It is not a worthy gift and boon.
If wit incites a man to say ʺNo God but Heʺ it brings no gain:
It. has no worth at all I think, Unless affirmed by heart and brain.
