DIAPHRAGM

MANOMETER
USED IN
MECHATRONICS
1- INTRODUCTION
The diaphragm manometer
is a measuring instrument
used in mechatronics to
measure pressure in
pneumatic and fluid
systems. It consists of a
flexible diaphragm that
deforms with the fluid
pressure and transmits
this deformation to a
reading scale.
The diaphragm pressure gauge consists of a

3.MECHATRONICS APPLICATIONS:
-PRESSURE CONTROL IN PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS.
- PRESSURE MONITORING IN HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS.
- FAULT DIAGNOSIS IN FLUID SYSTEMS.

4. ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

DIAPHRAGM PRESSURE GAUGES ARE ACCURATE,
INEXPENSIVE AND EASY TO INSTALL. HOWEVER, THEY ARE
NOT GOOD FOR ACCURATE HIGH PRESSURE READINGS
AND CAN DEFORM.

5. USES IN THE INDUSTRY

The diaphragm gauge is mainly used to measure the
pressure of fluid media, such as petroleum and
chemical industry, alkali, chemical fiber, dyeing,
pharmaceutical, food and other industrial sectors for
the production process.

6.Conclusions

1. To measure the pressure of corrosive, hot, viscous, crystallizing or

contaminated liquids and gases, the process industry can use a
diaphragm pressure gauge.

2. Pressure overload, also called overpressure, is one of the most

common causes of gauge failure. However, a diaphragm pressure gauge
can withstand significantly higher maximum pressures than standard
pressure gauges.
