FOR HOME IMPROVEMENT WORKS
SPECIAL NOTE:
The Standard Schedule of Rates for Building Works, Civil Engineering Works, Electrical
Works and Supplementary Schedule of Rates for Home Improvement Works shall be read
and construed as a whole for application in upgrading works. Where rates with descriptions
pertain to the same purpose are listed in more than one Schedule of Rates incorporated in
the Contract, the rate as listed in the following schedules (in the stated order of
precedence) shall prevail:

1. The tenderers shall be deemed to have closely studied all rates (in Singapore
Currency) contained herein and duly noted their implications.
2. Where an item of work or part thereof is described in both the Standard (inclusive of
any Addendum to the Standard Schedule of Rates) and Supplementary Schedules
of Rates, the rate in the Supplementary Schedule of Rates shall prevail.
4. All works, materials and goods described in this Supplementary Schedule of Rates
shall be in accordance with the respective kinds described in the Contract and in
accordance with the instructions of the Superintending Officer's Representative,
Housing & Development Board.
5. The description given of each item shall, unless otherwise stated, be held to include
the use of materials, labour, equipment, tools and vehicles including maintenance,
supply of fuel and all idle time, conveyance, delivery, unloading, storing, hoisting, all
labour setting, fitting, scaffolding and fixing in position, all cutting and waste, return
of packings, establishment charges, overheads and profit.
6. All rates contained herein shall, unless otherwise stated, be held to include the
removal of redundant materials, debris from Site, making good all works disturbed
(including existing or old works), provision of all temporary facilities (e.g. portable
toilet in the flat), making all necessary connection and jointing to new and existing
fitting, and matching up to existing works to the satisfaction of the Superintending
Officer's Representative, Housing and Development Board.
7. All rates contained in the Supplementary Schedule of Rates are exclusive of any
Goods and Services Tax. Any such Goods and Services Tax shall be borne by the
HDB as and when the same becomes due and payable.
8. Unless otherwise stated, the term "as specified" means as specified in any of the
documents forming part of the Contract.
9. Unless otherwise stated, all work shall be measured nett as fixed in its place.
10. Where the unit of billing is the metre-tonne, the quantities shall be billed to the
nearest two places of decimals.
11. Unless otherwise stated, pipes are described by their internal diameters.

chrome plated spout, complete with w.c. bowl cistern, internal parts
and fittings forming the whole flushing mechanism, seat and cover
including all necessary fittings, accessories for fixing and jointing to
pipework (for S-trap or P-trap).
