Barangay Health Emergency Response Team
WHEREAS, Influenza A (H1N1) has already spread to more than 70 countries in the
world including the Philippines;
WHEREAS, our national government has limited capacity to respond if ever there
would be a widespread of Influenza A (H1N1) in the country;
WHEREAS, it is a declared policy that LGUs should take measures to prevent, abort,
and/or minimize the entry and spread of diseases in their respective localities;
WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2009-090 dated June 30, 2009 enjoins
all barangay to reactivate their respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Team
(BHERT).
WHEREAS, with the assumption to office of the newly elected barangay officials,
there is a need to reorganize all barangay special bodies specifically the Barangay Health
Emergency Response Team;

1. Conduct visits in the home of every arriving person from Influenza A (H1N1)
affected country;
2. Take daily the temperature of the said person. If found symptoms of Influenza A
(H1N1), report immediately to Rural Health Unit.
3. List down the name of person that came in contact with the suspected Influenza
A (H1N1) carrier. Monitor the temperature of these persons.
