ABSTRACT:
Seashell accessories can be made from shells from the seashore, these materials are easily to find in the
sea. For this paper, the researchers making accessories from shells that is commonly used to many
people, for fashion, for designing, and to sell in their shop.
Moreover, many accessories are very expensive due to their non-easily find materials. Since many
accessories such as bracelet and necklace are so pricely and many of people can't afford it. So that, we
think that it can feel jelous to poor people and can't buy an accessories, So we will making accessories
made from seashell.
Processing of seashell in this case especially which applied in fashion accessories will increase economic,
utilization, aesthetic value. The creative industry itself is a creativity- based activity that influences the
economy and people's welfare. The existence of innovation and creativity that arises in this society
makes the creative industry sector in an area has an important role in the development of the economy
of some region. However, this innovation is limited to the level of individual creativity in utilizing and
empowering seashell waste as the main commodity-producing fashion accessories. So that each
individual in the community concerned needs to make innovations by increasing knowledge of new
processing techniques
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
During the research process, the researcher is assisted by parties related to all research processes since
it brings the successes of the research. For that reason, researchers say thank you to the State University
of Surakarta, the 1st Lead Lecturer of Researchers Mulyanto, the 2nd Lead Lecturer of Researcher Adam
Wahida, the owner of House of Seashell on Astapada Village, Cirebon, Astapada Village society, the
craftsmen on the House of Shell and Friends of Fine Art Educations Programme which provided the
technical help. Since the products bring the locals to the global market, the other social needs to follow
the way how to preserving the environment with ideas, concepts, raw, and good material until finished,
the collaboration and teamwork play between the workers, the client and the owners so that the
products can be sold to the international shipping. House of Seashell on Astapada Village always try to
expand the other country with new and fresh concept construct to export, that is why the products
being loved and can be accepted by the global market

CHAPTER I. INTRODUCTION
The newly developed of this study is called "seashell accessories" it is made of shells from sea.
The seashell amusium is one of the results of the natural wealth of marine life that is easily
found, Especially in the Indonesian waters. This type of conch shell is one of the most common
marine wastes (W. Armando, Arif , et al. 2013)
Seashell has various types, namely: dara shells, green/kijeng shells, scallop shells, mussel shells,
and oyster shells. The shape of the type of shell is very different. The waste of conch shell is
indeed less than the maximum in managing it so that its utilization can be made into various
fashion accessories such as bag, shoes, bracelet, necklace, and more.
The use of accessories especially for women has varied results, with the development and
changing times the conditions of the materials used to make accessories also vary greatly.
According to Ricky Felani in the role of the seashell craft industry in supporting Family Economic
Resilience, said that industrial growth is increasingly active, making employment and creative
capacity in the country begin to rise and have a quite positive impact on economic development
in Indonesia. The creative industry itself is a creativity-based activity than influences the
economy and welfare of the community.
The price of almost all commercialized or local products continuously increasing. And this is a big aspect
to be considered in schooling. Some of the schools don't backbone, an invertebrate. The word seashell
is often used to refer only to the shells of marine mollusks, i.e.mollusk shells, but it can also be used to
mean the shells of a wide variety of marine animals from different phyla. For helpful introductory
articles, see marine invertebrates and marine biology. Seashells are commonly found in beach drift,
natural detritus deposited along strandlines on beaches by the waves and the tides. Shells are very
often washed up onto a beach empty and clean, the animal having already died, and the soft parts
having rotted away or having been eaten by either predators or scavengers. Empty seashells are often
found by beach combers, and collecting these shells is a harmless hobby or study. However, the
majority of seashells which are offered for sale commercially have been collected alive (often in bulk)
and then killed and cleaned, specifically for the commercial trade. This type of exploitation can
sometimes have a strong negative impact on the distribution of rarer species, and on local ecosystems.
Many other kinds of sea animals have exoskeletons or shells which may, after death, wash up on the
beach and may be picked up by beach combers; these include remains from species in other
invertebrate phyla, such as the moulted shells or exuviae of crabs and lobsters, the shells of barnacles,
horseshoe crab shells, sea urchin and sand dollar tests, brachiopod shells, and the shells of marine
annelid worms in the family Serpulidae, which create calcareous tubes.
C. HYPOTHESIS
1.) There is significance difference between our product, chalk from sea shells and the leading
commercial one.
2.) There is significance difference between experimental chalk from sea shells and commercial one in
terms of quality and durability.
The importance of this study is to make fair to all people that no one can’t afford to buy
accessories made from seashell. It’s not a big reason that poor people can’t buy accessories.
Because of that, we want to make accessories and sell it and we put a cheap price so that all
people can buy this accessories.
F. DEFINITION OF TERMS
1.) Seashells- is a hard, rigid outer layer, which has evolved in a very wide varietyof different
animals, including mollusks, sea urchins, crustaceans turtlesand tor toises, armadillos, ete.
Scientific names for this type of structureinclude exoskeleton, armour, test, carapace, and
peltidium.
2.) Cassava -A shrubby tropical American plant Manihot esculenta) widely grownfor its large,
tuberous, starchy roots. The root of this plant, eaten as astaple food in the tropics only after
leaching and drying to removecyanide. Cassava starch is also the source of tapioca.
CHAPTER II: REVIEW AND RELATED LITERATURE
B. PROCEDURES
1. Collect sea shells from the sea shore or left-over shell viands, and cassava.
2. Pulverized the shells until it becomes fine as powder and set aside in a container.
3. Grate the cassava and squeeze its juice using cloth. Separate the liquid from its residue.
4. Mix the residue of the extracted cassava and the pulverized seashells. Add a small amount of water at
the right ratio of the quantity of the mixture.
5. Mold the mixture into different shapes and sizes according to your desire.
6.Place it under the sun and wait until it dries up and is ready to be used
CHAPTTER IV: RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Table 1 shows the physical characteristics of the experimental and commercial chalk. It shows that key
have different characteristics in terms of hardness but are both rough in terms of its texture.
BIBLIOGRAPHY
Through hard, decisive, several experiments, the researchers have conquered an amazing product that
has a good quality. We highly recommend using our own original finished product, made from seashells,
because aside from its cheapness, it is also easier to produce, eco-friendly, recyclable and has the
potential to make our study easier and clearer.
