MY OVERALL LEARNINGS

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused damage to education in the

Philippines. Students are expected to face major learning losses as a result of school closures and

issues with distant learning delivery. As in my case, who is not used to online classes it has been

a big challenge for me to adapt to the changes in the current learning set up. With the rise of

Coronavirus cases, we were not able to experience an actual or a face to face internship, instead

we attended and had a chance to organize webinars as an alternative. Throughout the internship,

I have learned new ideas and learnings from different resource speakers which I believe are

useful and helpful in preparing myself in facing the real world.

We cannot disagree that the Philippines has a problem with unstable internet connections.

Having a stable internet connection in my locality has proven to be a major difficulty for me.

Throughout my internship, I learned to be patient when it comes to internet connectivity and

webinar attendance. Given that situation, it didn't stop me from continuing attending webinars

and I did my best to think of ways on how I can catch up with some information I missed in the

webinar.

As with regards to organizing the webinar assigned to us, I learned the importance of

teamwork. Teamwork is indeed necessary since it allows the team to share ideas and tasks,

reducing stress and helping them to be more precise and thorough in the work. My

communication skill has also improved since I need to communicate well my ideas to my group

mates as a contribution for the success of our assigned webinar. Also, my listening skill was

enhanced because as a member I had to listen attentively to what the leader had assigned for me

to work on.

One of the webinars I have attended, I learned how important Statistics is. Considering

statistics is fundamentally a method for analyzing numerical data, it allows us to get the most out
of our interpretation, comprehension, and application. Statistics can be used to transform datainto

useful information. Appropriate use of statistics is essential when you are collecting and

analyzing your data so you could provide accurate and valid information. That is why the lessons

I have learned in the webinar with topic regards to Statistics are very helpful.

In addition, I also realized that when it comes to education, I believe that we should

educate not only our mind and body, but also our spirit. As we face the world outside the

campus, we are expected to achieve greatness in whichever career we choose. To accomplish so,

I believe we must first adopt the proper attitudes. Building a strong character takes time, it’s a

process. In whatever you do, strive for God's glory.

With the rise of coronavirus cases, it is causing widespread fear, anxiety, and concern

among the general public and has negatively affected the mental health of many. I learned that it

is important to take care of our mental health. Many are struggling from mental problems

nowadays, by spreading what we have learned and letting them know how important it is to

protect our mental health at all cost, we can end the stigma and raise awareness. Looking after

our mental health is reallynecessary.

We are also taught to prepare a case study, with this, we learn to generate new ideas and

make it easier for us to better understand a particular subject matter. Preparing a case study

forces us to consider alternate techniques for analyzing strengths and weaknesses, evaluating

current strategies, and formulating plans. I realized that case writing and analysis is useful

because it does help us develop our problem solving skills and analytical skills.

Importantly, I learned the value of ethics. Ethics in the workplace is something that all of

us should consider. Work ethics is essential because these are the reflection of a certain

organization on how they perform their duties, and how they interact and communicate both

internally and externally. I have observed that to be successful while also having a positive

impact around you, knowledge and continuous effort must be matched by a proper attitude and

fear of the Lord in your surroundings.

find it difficult to maintain a work-life balance, especially during the pandemic. As a student, I

believe we need to establish and maintain a study-life balance. It is difficult to find a balance

between our academic and personal lives, but it is something we should strive for. I have

ascertained that we should begin practicing work life balance as early as now.

Another important thing being taught to us is about professionalism. Being a

professional, there are certain things one must consider. Personality, communication skills, and

accountability to God really matters in professionalism. As we begin our professional careers, we

will be challenged with an excessive workload; to overcome this, we must organize our

work,plan ahead, and do what is essential. Throughout our working careers, we will undoubtedly

facea variety of problems. We can be more effective if we anticipate these issues and develop

plans and ways to address them.

Turning our ideas into profitable ventures is another informative lecture discussed to us.

Through this topic, I realized and appreciated the value of business, and it taught me how to be a

business minded person. I believe that owning a business does create personal satisfaction

because you will be able to use your knowledge and skills, and most importantly implement your

ideas for the success of your business. Also, to spend our money wisely is one thing I have

learned throughout the internship because it is a good start of investing. We should start investing

sooner because time is gold and it is our most precious asset, and those who invest earlier have a

big advantage. It is important for us to be aware about the current fraud situation today. Clearly,

fraud is a major worry for a particular firm, which is why it is critical for us to recognize it and

be aware about it. One of the codes of ethics of being a professional is the principle of

integrity.Remember to always practice it whatever the situation may be.

The importance of being a member of employee benefits such as PhilHelath, SSS,

GSIS,and Pag-IBIG were also emphasized to us. Such insurances help us to be protected and

insured in times of need and emergencies. Also, such benefits will be a great help in preparing us
in adulting and to be future ready. Understanding employee benefits will help us appreciate the

benefits being offered to every Filipinoworker.

As an accountancy student aspiring to become a Certified Public Accountant, it is

essential to keep informed on tax facts and revisions. Hence, a lecture about tax updates is really

helpful. Staying updated on the latest tax information will help understand and appreciate how

taxes both help and affect one’s economy. CREATE Act was introduced to us as one of the tax

updates we need to be informed of.

Most importantly, I learned what success means and I was inspired and motivated

through the stories of our resource speakers as they walk in the road of success. Their stories are

truly something we can reflect on. You can't just wish for success; you have to make it happen.

Work hard for it, be passionate about it, and have faith in yourself, and you'll be able to achieve

your goal. Also, the value of learning is really important, therefore we should always be open to

new ideas and we should not limit ourselves in things that we already know because we are more

capable than we think. Lastly, I learned to accept failures because these are part of success.

Failures will help us do better as we learn from those mistakes.

To sum it up, above are the learnings and reflections I have gained all throughout the

internship. Indeed, it is a memorable and helpful experience. The webinars I have attended are

greatly helpful as it enhances my skills, and enables me also to develop and learn new ideas that

are truly useful as I continue to achieve my goals in life. I can say that I am more than prepared if

I will put into practice what I have learned.
