Some more Tips & Tricks
Reach half an hour before the time of your interview.

Listen to the interviewer carefully and then answer.

If you fumble don’t worry, take a pause, and start

speaking. Always address visa officer as "officer"

Do not hesitate to ask the interviewer to repeat the

question if you don’t understand it the first time, it’s
better than giving the wrong answer.

Associate Degree/Pathway

8. Why associate degree? What after completing

associate degree?

Framing 1: If the background of your studies is different

then give reason of previous studies…

Example: I chose to go for the associate degree because I

have completed my high school degree in commerce,
and I don’t have any knowledge about arts and graphics
and jumping right into the bachelor’s degree does not
seem appropriate to me so I decided to take a small step
28
and learn the basics first. Also, my university has provided
me with the transfer letter to CSU after the completion of
my associate degree and I will continue my studies.

Framing 2: If the background of your previous studies is

same as associate degree…

Example: The main reason of choosing associate degree

is to bridge the gap between Indian and American
education system. In America subjects and concepts
taught in computers is entirely different from what I have
read in my senior secondary education. For instance, in
my previous studies, I was not being introduced with
computers practically. I was being taught only
theoretically about computers, its system, hardware,
software, excel keys. I was not at all being taught about
any programs or languages. So NOW for a good career I
want to take the knowledge from the beginning. And
when I discussed the same with my faculty head Tim
mason, he suggested me to opt for associate instead of
bachelors.
Also, after successful completion of my 2-year associate
degree, Green River College has issued me with the with
the letter for transfer option to the university of
Washington at Tacoma for completion of Bachelor's
Degree.
I have the letter with me as well.

9. Why pathway? What after pathway?

My university has offered me to do a 6-month pathway

first because according to them I need to complete this
first for admission in bachelors/ masters but it’s not a
problem because I will get transfer in bachelors/ masters
as soon as I complete the pathway.
