March 2022 to Present
In 2022 I opened the newest Bickford branch as their kitchen and Bread Basket manager. Not only did
I lead the Virginia division in food cost and quality control, I also was trusted to train all newly hired
managers in the division.
Our branch was nominated for branch of the year in 2024 out of the 62 company-wide.
Despite being the youngest branch, we also became one of the first two branches within the company
to pilot a digital point-of-sale system, due to my Bread Basket's positive reputation.
My duties included:
• interviewing/hiring new staff
• inventory and ordering for multiple departments
• scheduling
• attending management meetings
• consulting new residents on dietary needs and preferences
• training staff on proper culinary technique and service etiquette
• monitoring specialty dietary needs and referring adjustments as needed (i.e. mechanical soft, puree,
high caloric nutritional intervention)
• producing meals (including cooking breakfast to order) and managing day-to-day operations

Starting as a part-time dietary aide, I was promoted to prep cook and subsequently the assistant cook
to the kitchen manager within my first two years in the company.

As a line cook in a gastropub in the heart of the VIBE District of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, I was
pushed to produce quality food in a fast-paced environment. Beginning as an externship for my AAS in
Culinary Arts, my technical skills and creativity were encouraged and expanded during my time as a line
cook. Because of this, I was responsible for many weekly specials that often utilized fresh produce from
our garden or local farms.
