    1. Structural Inspections
    A. Under various conditions and circumstances, different structural inspection requirements may
    apply. The following table lists the areas of the airplane and a brief description of the inspection
    to be conducted after a hard landing or flight through turbulent air.

    Inspect nacelle keelson webs for evidence of perma- X

    Inspect nacelle upper and lower longerons for evi- X
    dence of buckling.
    Inspect aft nacelle bulkhead. X
    LANDING GEAR Inspect MLG drag strut and support fittings for cracks X
    and sheared or loose attachment.
    Inspect actuators, bellcranks and rollers for cracks X
    and damage.
    Inspect MLG axle for permanent set. X
    Perform dye penetrant inspection of wheels for X
    cracks in hub and rim flanges.
    Perform landing gear retraction with aircraft on jacks, X
    and check for freedom of motion and clearance.
    WING Inspect top and bottom of wing for cracks, permanent X X
    wrinkles and/or loose rivets.
    Inspect wing spar webs for evidence of buckling if X X
    external wing skin buckling is present after encoun-
    tering a hard landing or flight through turbulent air.
    Inspect leading edge of wing for evidence of skin X X
    buckling and/or loose and damaged structure.
    Inspect wing-to-nacelle aft attachment for cracked or X X
    sheared attachments.
    Remove fairing and inspect area of wing enclosed by X X
    fairing.
    Check for clearance throughout flap travel. X X

    FUSELAGE Inspect top side and underside of fuselage skin for X X


    evidence of buckling.

    Inspect skin splices for loose or sheared attach- X X


    ments.

    Remove wing fairing and inspect fuselage skin and X X


    frames, in area of wing spars, for permanent set or
    cracks. With wing fairing removed, perform dye pen-
    etrant inspection of visible upper, outboard fillet radii
    on both halves of wing-to-fuselage fitting at main and
    aft spars, checking for cracks.

    Inspect all doors and door alignment. X X

    Pressure check cabin to 7.0 psi. X X

    TAIL Inspect vertical stabilizer-fuselage attachment by re- X


    moving fillets. Inspect fillets and tubes for cracks,
    buckling, and loose attachment.
    Inspect vertical stabilizer spar fuselage frames. X
    Inspect horizontal stabilizer trim actuator. X
    Inspect rudder surface and hinges for distortion, X
    cracks, and sheared or loose attachment.
    Check for clearance over full rudder travel. X

    CONTROLS Check flight control system from cockpit; operate all X X


    controls and trim tabs through full travel, checking for
    freedom of movement.
