Chapter 1
Introduction
An event may be defined as a collection of events to which some
visitors or participants are invited for a specific time period. Events can be
classed.Cultural festivities, business events such as conferences, product
launches, and marketing, wedding ceremonies, college activities, andso on.
When it comes to event management systems, they may be thought of as a
platform for event administrators and a gateway for attendees.
EthicallyManaging an event include identifying a budget, analyzing costs, and
doing post-event analyses and comments. Our project is an online booking
system or rather a gateway in the form of a website, a portal that will assist in
the operation of an event, both the organizer and the participantsstakeholders in
the event. The project supplies the majority of the essential criteria for an event.
It gives the user an optionto choose from a list of events grouped by genre. To
better understand how to utilize this internet portal, try the following sequence
of actions.
This application allows users to register students for participation,
after which they may login and follow event datalike the participant's name,
contact information, postal address, location, event date and time, event
expenses and income, and so on.The registration data is immediately accessible
and validated by the event manager, who works with the site administrator to
arrange things correctly. It will certainly assist. The event organizers and
marketing team will promote the events digitally and raise registrations and
involvement exponentially. Also, thissite is meant to address many challenges
that event organizers confront when properly running any event.
Background of the Study
The events business is continually expanding, and with the increased
need for smooth and effective event planning, modern event booking systems
have become critical. Traditional approaches frequently result in inefficiencies,
miscommunications, and resource misuse. This chapter outlines the thesis
project, which aims to revolutionize event planning by developing and
implementing a complete Event Booking System (EBS). The project's objective,
relevance, and possible influence are discussed, setting the stage for the next
chapters.

Objectives of the Study

The fundamental goal of this thesis is to transform event planning by
creating and implementing a comprehensive event booking system. Specific
targets include:

 Create a simple and user-friendly interface for event organizers.

 Implementing sophisticated backend capabilities for reservations,
resources, and scheduling.
 Improving communication and collaboration among stakeholders in event
preparation.
 Improving resource allocation and usage to maximize efficiency.
 Evaluating how the Event Booking System affects event planning
procedures.
Documentation of the Existing and Seriousness of the Problem
Traditional event planning approaches sometimes entail manual and time-
consuming processes, resulting in inefficiencies. One key shortcoming of
previous techniques is the difficulty of enabling real-time cooperation among
event stakeholders. The said system aims to create a flexible system that saves
more time and prevent a last minute changes as the system comes up with the
particular identifications of the events to be hold also with the date, theme and
event hall.

Scope and Delimitations

Scope
This thesis focuses on the design, development, and implementation of an
Event Booking System of Bislig Highland Event Center for a diverse range of
events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and social gatherings. The
scope encompasses both the frontend user interface and the backend system
architecture, ensuring a comprehensive solution to address the complexities of
event planning. The research will explore the potential applications and benefits
of the Event Booking System in various event scenarios.

Delimitations
 Be access only by the management, the user and log in will only be
known by them.
 The system may load more often if the entry data is massive
 May cause a double entry of the event as it only flows by the range on the
Internet.

Feasibility Analysis
This study is noteworthy because it adds to our understanding of the
changing environment of event planning and the role that online booking
platforms play in increasing efficiency and customer satisfaction. This study's
conclusions will benefit event organizers, corporations, and event management
technology providers.

Review and Related Literature

Foreign Studies
Sai Kamal created an event management system as a web application in
Hyderabad (Kamal, 2022). This Web application has a form that asks users for
information such as their name, email address, mobile number, the event they
want to register for, their class and section, and their address. The admin just
has to input the admin login and password to access the admin module because
it is not available to end users. The system was designed and developed using
the Waterfall paradigm, same like EMS with SMSN. Sai Kamal's EMS,
however, allows people to easily interact and register for the events of their
choice, in contrast to the proponent's method. PHP, MySQL, HTML, and CSS
are used to create the web application. The web application's server-side
scripting is done using PHP. Additionally, the frontend portion of the program
is built using HTML, CSS, and styled components. The Heroku Cloud is used to
install the event management system. The events generated are kept in a
MySQL database on an AWS-hosted JawsDB server. SQL queries are used to
retrieve the event data. The web application has the ability to dynamically
produce detailed reports that may be emailed to the admin. These reports
contain information on the registered users. It can also be accessed using any
device, like a smart watch, a mobile phone, a tablet, or a desktop computer.
However, an internet connection is needed.

Local Studies
Event management in offices, firms, businesses, and other types of
organizations is not an easy task. To ensure that the appropriate individuals
receive the appropriate message at the appropriate moment, effective
communication is required at every stage. This criterion is readily satisfied
when utilizing SMS on mobile phones. The goal of this study was to solve the
issues that come up while handling events manually, provide a practical
solution, and hasten the transmission of information about the client's meetings
and activities, the Mindanao People's Care Foundation Inc. (MPCFI). To
develop an Event Management System with SMS notification to notify the
employees of the aforementioned clients about important and/or urgent
events and announcements. The system was deployed using the framework
- dependent deployment with Microsoft Visual Studio. While the database
was deployed using SQL Server. This research provides significant
contributions in promoting productivity since it is easy to use and is time-
saving. It also provides safety and security of records since it’s free from the
flaws of using the traditional paper and verbal announcements. With its SMS
notification feature, the employees and volunteers can quickly receive the
important messages without the need of internet connection. It therefore
promotes good flow of communication between superiors and subordinates
within the office/organization.
