1. Differentiate quantitative research and qualitative research in events.

While qualitative research focuses on words and meanings, quantitative research works with figures and data.
Quantitative research in events typically involves gathering numerical data through methods like surveys,
questionnaires, or data analysis. It focuses on quantifying phenomena and examining relationships between
variables, often aiming for statistical significance. It is useful for determining trends and averages, formulating
hypotheses, examining causality, and extrapolating findings to larger populations. Qualitative research in events,
on the other hand, emphasizes understanding the underlying motivations, perceptions, and experiences of
participants. It relies on techniques like interviews, observations, and content analysis to gather rich, descriptive
data, often exploring meanings and contexts.

2. In your perspective, are giveaways still necessary in events today? Justify your answer with an example.
Yes, giveaways can still be necessary in events today, especially for marketing purposes and to enhance
attendee engagement. Giveaways can accomplish a number of goals, including boosting engagement, thanking
guests, and raising brand exposure. For example, in a tech conference, a giveaway of the latest gadgets can
attract more attendees and generate buzz around the event. It also provides an opportunity for sponsors to
showcase their products and services, leading to potential partnerships and business opportunities. Also,
giveaways can create a positive experience for attendees, leaving them with a lasting impression of the event
and encouraging them to return in the future.

3. Describe how sponsorship happens in events.

When a business contributes to an event by giving money in return for something of value, it is known as event
sponsorship. This value could be in the form of discounted event tickets, speaking opportunities, access to
attendee data, or improved brand exposure. In order to provide cash or in-kind support in exchange for
marketing opportunities and brand visibility, event organizers and sponsoring organizations enter into a
partnership. By offering resources, financial support, and experience, sponsors are essential to the success of
events. Event sponsorship can take various forms, such as monetary contributions, provision of goods or
services, and strategic partnerships.
