East Lombok is one of the most beautiful areas offering rural and cultural areas as well as great
beaches and a taste of the traditional undeveloped lifestyle and scenery. It offers plenty to see from the
natural beauty to the unique culture of the Sasak people. You will be able to enjoy not only the coconut
groves, beaches, rainforests and villages but also waterfalls and other sights.

The local handicrafts at Kota Raja (Royal city) are famous for their bamboo products. When walking
in the area and around the markets, it is amazing how diverse and creative-made the products are.
Pringgasela is another area which should be seen particularly to see the traditional hand-weaving which even
within Indonesia is particularly beautiful; the Sasak weaving has to be among the best in the country.

Once seeing these different areas you might wish to take a trip slightly inland to the waterfalls of
Otak Kokok and JerukManis where the water is believed to cure many illnesses from diseases to baldness.
Nearby this part, it includes Tete Batu where you can enjoy the peace and tranquility around the area.

In the southern part of East Lombok offers some beautiful white sandy beaches such as Kaliantan,

Have you ever wondered how people get chocolate from? In this article we'll enter the amazing world of
chocolate so you can understand exactly what you're eating.
Chocolate starts with a tree called the cacao tree. This tree grows in equatorial regions, especially in places such
as South America, Africa, and Indonesia. The cacao tree produces a fruit about the size of a small pine apple. Inside the
fruit are the tree's seeds, also known as cocoa beans.
The beans are fermented for about a week, dried in the sun and then shipped to the chocolate maker. The
chocolate maker starts by roasting the beans to bring out the flavour. Different beans from different places have different
qualities and flavor, so they are often sorted and blended to produce a distinctive mix. Next, the roasted beans are
winnowed. Winnowing removes the meat nib of the cacao bean from its shell. Then, the nibs are blended. The blended
nibs are ground to make it a liquid. The liquid is called chocolate liquor. It tastes bitter. All seeds contain some amount of
fat, and cacao beans are not different. However, cacao beans are half fat, which is why the ground nibs form liquid. It's
pure bitter chocolate.

Before we smoke, it is better to look at the fact of smoking effects, not only for smokers but also
for non-smokers. About 50 thousands people die every year in Britain as a direct result of smoking.
This is seven times as many as deaths in road accidents. Nearly a quarter of smokers die because of
diseases caused by smoking.

Ninety percent of lung cancers are caused by smoking. If we smoke five cigarettes a day, we are
six times more likely to die of lung cancer than a non-smoker. If we smoke twenty cigarettes a day,
the risk is nineteen times greater. Ninety five percent of people who suffer from bronchitis are people
who smoke. Smokers are two and half times more likely to die of heart disease than non-smokers.

Additionally, children of smokers are more likely to develop bronchitis and pneumonia. In one
hour in a smoky room, a non-smoker breathes as much as substance causing cancer as if he had
smoked fifteen cigarettes.

Smoking is really good for tobacco companies because they do make much money from smoking
habit. Smoking, however, is not good for everybody else.

Two Indonesians Win Science Awards in France

JAKARTA: Two Indonesian PhD students at French universities have won this year’s Mahar Schutzenberger
Awards from the AFIDES Foundation.
The award is granted to research that makes major contributions to science and technology. The students are
Kadarusman, currently studying at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, and Hananto Prakoso, studying at Paris Est-
Creteil University in Paris.
“Their research is of a high quality and is innovative, offering clear solutions to Indonesia’s current
biodiversity, transportation and economic problems,” AFIDES president Helen Schutzenberger said on Thursday as
quoted by kompas.com.
Kadarusman’s research is focused on the rainbow fish species that inhabits Papua’s bird head area, while
Hananto presented his analysis of the relationship between the labor market and the need to build better infrastructure.
