When the pupils arrived at Chakula Kitamu Hotel, they found the Manager, Mr.
Kasirye Ali, waiting for them. Their Classteacher, Mrs. Harriet Zinaabala had
organized the trip for all the trip for all the fifty pupils in primary six to the famous
hotel. Mr. Kasirye shook hands with Mrs. Zinaabala. “How are you children?” Mr.
Kasirye greeted them. “We are alright thank you Sir,” the pupils answered.

“Welcome to Chakula Kitamu Hotel, please, feel at home. How many of you would
like to work in a hotel?” Half of the pupils put up their hands. They looked quite
eager to work in a hotel.

“Good, I will take you around and feel free to ask any question that you have,”
Please, follow me. This is the main restaurant and we have two dining rooms. This
large dining room serves one hundred customers. The small one at my right serves 30
customers. Many customers come here to enjoy delicious meals. We serve breakfast
in the morning and lunch served at 12:30pm. We are usually very busy during lunch
time. Many customers also come in the evening for supper. Some go to the pub to
enjoy a drink with friends.

“What is a pub?” Asked Sheila Musinguzi. Mr. Kasirye smiled and said, “It is a bar.
Only adults are allowed to go and drink there.”

“If you get many customers, how do you serve them all?” Logose asked. “That is a
good question. We have waiters and waitresses who serve the customers. They set
each table carefully. “Mr. Kasirye told the children to look around. He then
continued, “They arrange the spoons, the forks and even a menu to help them
choose what food they want to eat.”

Look at all these guests I have received

Now here they are
To attend my wedding ceremony.

The ones I sent and others by hand
How useful letters are!

I must say “letters forever”

If I were to invite them by phone
How much airtime would I use?
Of course it would be very costly.

Letters have always done it for me

Think of the application letter I wrote
The one that gave me this big job
An engineer for this big town.
