Each group is allowed only one submission in E-Learning; therefore, all answers
must be submitted at once by a student.

Each student's name and matric number must be inserted on each application.

Students must ensure that they have stable internet connectivity while uploading
the answer.

SECTION A: SOFTWARE APPLICATION (150 MARKS)

ONLINE BUSINESS START-UP MINI PROJECT

A lot of small businesses have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its global
spread and the movement control order since 18 March 2020. Due to this situation, the
government has encouraged companies who are impacted by the pandemic to divert
towards a different way of excelling their businesses by moving forward to a mobile
platform or digital technologies to further enhance sustainability. A start-up is a
business looking to find an establish a scalable and repeatable business model. An
online business is any kind of business activity that happens over the Internet. When a
company or store is at the beginning stage and plans to market their products on the
Internet, it is called an online business or e-commerce start-up.

You and your team must use Microsoft Office applications tools in planning your online
business start-up.

SECTION 1: MICROSOFT WORD – CLO 1 (30 MARKS)

PART 1: CREATE A PROFESSIONAL E-FLYER (20 MARKS)

You and your team have decided to start promoting your products or services to
enhance customer awareness. The first initial plan is to create and distribute an e-flyer
for the upcoming events and share it via social media online platforms.

Use the concepts and techniques presented in Chapter 1 to create and format this e-flyer
by considering the following:

a) Formatting the text


i) Font type and font size
ii) Underlines, italics, and bold
iii) Paragraph alignment
iv) Bulleted paragraphs
v) Color

b) Graphics
Digital pictures appropriate for the content of the e-flyer, position, and
formatting.

c) Page enhancements
Page borders and spacing

d) Text of the flyer

e) Spelling and Grammar

PART 2: CREATING THE BUSINESS PROPOSAL FOR THE START-UP


PROJECT (10 MARKS)

As part of the online business initiative, you are required to draft a short proposal
regarding what you intend to sell or services to be provided to your potential customers.
The requirements of the proposal are according to the following with the overall word
count less than 150 words (not including references):

a) Introduction
Introduce the company (product or services), objectives, and potential
customers.

b) Body of contents
Marketing Plan
Potential Customers (how to reach them)
Management Plan
Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Thread (SWOT) Analysis

c) References (maximum 5 references)

SECTION 2: MICROSOFT EXCEL – CLO 2 (40 MARKS)

CREATE A PROFIT POTENTIAL WORKSHEET

Create a one-year budgeted profit potential worksheet to help you analyze the profit
potential of your online business. You need to create the worksheet based on your
proposed online business. Your budgeted profit potential worksheet should consist of:

a) List of revenue (Sales, commission received, rental received and others related
revenue).

b) List of expenses (marketing, administrative and operating expenditure).

c) The appropriate mathematical function to calculate the total revenue, expenditure,


and net profit.

d) A Supporting chart that can describe your online business profit potential.

You can use the concepts and techniques presented in Chapter 2 to format your
worksheet and create a chart for your profit potential.

SECTION 3: MICROSOFT ACCESS – CLO 3 (50 MARKS)

DESIGN AND CREATE A PROFESSIONAL DATABASE SYSTEM

Based on your online business proposal, create a simple database system that can keep
track of your target customers. Apply the concepts and techniques introduced in
Chapter 3 to create the database.

In your database system:

a) Create TWO (2) possible Tables for your system.

b) Identify at least FIVE (5) fields for each of the Tables and insert at least TEN (10)
records. Use the appropriate Data Types for each of the Fields and sort the database
in ascending order.

c) Create a Form for each of the Tables in question (a).

d) Create a Query for each of the Tables. Apply suitable criteria and mathematical
function in your Query.

e) Create a Report based on each of the Query in the question (d).

SECTION 4: MICROSOFT POWERPOINT – CLO 4 (30 MARKS)

DESIGN A PROFESSIONAL POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

Design and create a professional PowerPoint presentation using the following


guidelines for your proposed start-up business. Your task is to convince others to share
your business.

a) Create a new presentation using a design template of your choice.


b) On the first slide, explain your company background. Create a slide with all the
information needed.
c) Create another presentation slide to include other information of interest. You
should create at least 6 slides and not more than 9 slides.
d) Review your slides with suitable text, audio, video, graphics, animation, or
transition to enhance the presentation visuals.
e) Use your PowerPoint slides presentation to create a video presentation.
f) Set your video presentation to be not more than 5 minutes.
g) Select a team leader who will be responsible for the introduction and summing up
of the presentation. The rest of the members will present accordingly.
h) Upload your video presentation to YouTube.
i) Submit the YouTube link by adding it to your PowerPoint presentation via the E-
Learning platform during week 14.
