President of the Republic of the Philippines

Manila, Metro Manila, 1000

Greetings Dear President Marcos,

I am writing to you to urge the full and immediate implementation of essential health initiatives in the
Philippines. As our nation faces various health challenges, it is imperative to prioritize these initiatives to
ensure the well-being of all Filipinos.

Firstly, implementing the initiatives will improve our access to healthcare services especially those in
underserved communities. By expanding healthcare coverage, we can address prevalent diseases, and
mortality rates, and enhance overall public health and safety. Secondly, proactive measures are
essential for disease prevention and control. Timely implementation of vaccination campaigns, public
health education, and sanitation programs will mitigate the spread of infectious diseases and safeguard
the population against future health threats.

Furthermore, investing in preventive healthcare measures is not only cost-effective but also promotes
long-term protection. By focusing on preventive healthcare measures, we can reduce the burden on the
system, alleviate some healthcare costs, and improve productivity and quality of life for all Filipinos.

In conclusion, I urge your administration to prioritize the implementation of health initiatives to ensure
the health and wellness of Filipinos. By taking decisive action now, we can build a healthier, more
resilient nation for more generations to come.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Vhinn Ethan Luke M. Patigayon
Activity 16: WHO CONVENTION
You are to represent your country to the World Health Convention at the United Nations headquarters
in Geneva, Switzerland. Write a speech about the importance of global health in order to address other
global concerns and issues like poverty, hunger, and environmental sanitation. You will talk in front of
other delegates and need to convince the UN member nation representatives of the importance of
addressing your concerns. Use the rubric for speech in the appendices as your guide.

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed delegates,

As we gather here at the World Health Convention, we are obligated to recognize the link between
global health and the voices of global concerns. Health is not merely a standalone issue but a pillar upon
which the structure of human prosperity stands.

Poverty, hunger, and environmental sanitation are challenges that afflict communities worldwide. Yet, at
the very heart of these issues lies the nexus of health. Poor health perpetuates poverty by hindering
economic productivity and exacerbating inequalities. Malnutrition, is a consequence of the inability to
access nutritional food, weakening the physical and balanced degradation, additionally, unsanitary
conditions breed disease, amplifying the burden on already strained healthcare systems.

To address these pressing global concerns effectively, we must prioritize global health as a component
of our agenda. Investing in healthcare infrastructure, disease prevention, and health education not only
saves lives but also accelerates social and economic development. By strengthening health systems we
could break the chains of poverty, alleviate hunger, and foster sustainable environmental practices.

As representatives of our nations, we must recognize the interconnectedness of global health with
broader development goals. Let us seize this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to forging a
healthier, more prosperous future world for all.

Thank you.
