Deck Crane L.O Sampling Procedure
CAUTION
Be sure to perform specified maintenance and inspections.
* The performance, service life, etc. of each device will vary greatly depending
on whether the maintenance and inspection are performed appropriately.
If the maintenance or inspection is not performed, it could cause serious
accidents. Also, it could prevent each device from demonstrating the desired
performance.
Take care not to touch. After using the deck crane, the temperature
of the hydraulic oil inside the hydraulic circuit or lubrication oil
inside the reduction gearbox is very high.
* Otherwise, it could cause a burn injury by contact with high temperature oil.
ᴾ
The replacement procedure of the hydraulic oil of the deck crane is as follows:
Loosen (Counterclockwise)
1 Loosen the air vent valve of the oil
cooler and line filter to intake the air.
(For places of the air vent valve, refer
Air vent valve to [6] and [7] of “4.4.2 List for places
of air vent valve and drain plugs.)

ᴾ
2 Prepare an oil receiver under the
place from which parts are removed
for collecting the oil.
ᴾ
NOTE
Ɣ The oil receiver is provided for
collecting the oil leaked during
the replacement or discharged
hydraulic oil.
ᴾ
3 Remove each drain plug (hoisting

motor, luffing motor, slewing motor, oil
ᴾ cooler, line filter and oil tank), and
ᴾ
discharge the hydraulic oil.
(For the places of the drain plugs,
refer to [4] to [8] of “4.4.2 List for
Discharging hydraulic oil places of air vent valves and drain
plugs.”)
ᴾ
4 After discharging the hydraulic oil is
completed, wind a seal tape around
the taper screw.
ᴾ
5 Re-install each drain plug.
(For the places of the drain plugs,
refer to [4] to [8] of “4.4.2 List for
places of air vent valves and drain
plugs.”)

(For the places of the drain plugs,
refer to [2] and [6] of “4.4.2 List for
Air vent valve

plugs.”)
Proper quantity:
The oil level is between the
red marks of the oil level
gauge.

Be sure to shut off the operating and lighting power source. In
addition, place a tag stating "Work is on progress." and "Do not
turn on." on the control panel for the generator of ship, when
performing maintenance or inspection.
* If the power source is turned on during maintenance o㹰 inspection of the
electrical equipments, it could cause an electrical shock or equipment
damage.
