Abstract. To explore the impacts of gear churning power losses, a research was conducted to achieve the internal
causes of power losses of churning gear by designing a gear churning power losses measurement device. The gear
churning power losses could be influenced by different gear modules, the number of teeth and the axial position of
gear. Finally, the impacts of gear churning power losses were discussed by comparing experimental data and
theoretical data.
