The target group are in low skilled work or unemployed, mostly working the health
sector. Gaining numeracy skills and qualifications could improve their income and job
prospects. In terms of overcoming language barriers, most Filipino immigrants and
work seekers may be quite numerate in their native language and in terms of the
education system they grew up with but are finding it hard in the language being used
in numeracy courses in the UK. This is therefore reflected in the early sessions in which
individual learners abilities and confidence are diagnosed and tracked. Activities will be
designed to allow these learners to discover alternative (not better) ways of doing things
and learners coming from diverse backgrounds from their home country can also of
course be a hugely enriching source of experience and alternative ways of thinking within

Mashiach With The Oil Of Kingship
The third text from cave 4, as mentioned in the previous paragraph, is 4Q458 a
fragmentary narrative that possibly offers a messianic reference. In the two legible
fragments, there are two expressions that are tantalizing: the beloved as observed in
lines 1 and 2 that refer to the same personage, as well as anointed with the oil of
kingship in the second fragment that refers to the Royal Messiah . The editor of this
fragment speaks of a war against the Gentiles (the uncircumcised) and on who is anointed
(mashiach) with the oil of kingship . As mentioned, the chosen word of use here is
mashiach, which stands for anointed one and is important in both to the Old and New
Testament where the noun mashiach derives the term Messiah . With
Satire In Mark Twain
1.What is the issue Twain is satirizing?
Mark Twain is satirizing the advice young people are given by authoritative figures on
different issues in life. The words of wisdom used to guide youth usually promote the
same ideals and are repeated so often that in some sense they lose their strength. That
does not mean though that the issues they touch upon are not important. Twain uses
humor to actually make young people go beyond the banality and conformity and ask
questions of importance.
2.What techniques does Twain use to create his satire?
Mark Twain uses hyperbole by saying that he is giving his advice beseechingly and
urgingly. He is also being ironic in the beginning by saying that he is supposed to say
something suitable for young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can cause shock in the beginning but that makes it even stronger. He manages to
instill the idea that we are all special, everybody in their own way and the person
sitting next to us deserves as much respect and appreciation as we do. He also
demonstrates that we need to live life for the better of ourselves and others equally
because that will bring us true satisfaction.
7.How are the messages communicated by Twain and McCullough similar?
These speeches manage to deliver an important message for young people through humor.
Both Mark Twain and McCullough satirize one extreme to reinforce the truth behind
their concepts.
8.Which message could you relate to more? Explain why in a minimum of three
sentences.
I relate more with Mark Twain s message because there is a certain point in a young
people s lives when we start to see our parents and teachers more as humans and not as
authority figures. This contradiction between words and actions is something that can
lead to confusion. I believe that young people should more often be challenged to
explore things, and ask questions. Rules and norms are there for a reason, but so are
contradictions. But there is much more than just saying what is wrong and right.
Thinking on your own is a step that is necessary for a person in order for him or her to
be adequate in all stages of
Lord Of The Flies Tone Analysis
Rules are meant to sustain a society in shape and order, but what happens when rules
aren t enforced anymore? In William Golding s novel, Lord of the Flies, a group of
schoolboys are stranded on an island without any grownups to look after them. The
mysterious island test the boys with ups and downs that reveal the different tones from
beginning to end. The challenges the characters face throughout the book give many
shifts in tones to the novel, but the more dominant tone is morose; a gloomy, sullen,
surly, and despondent tone. The author uses imagery to recognize the gloomy tone with
the senses, details to support the sullen, surly tone with facts, and language to describe
the despondent tone with words. Imagery helps the reader s senses in creating a mood or
tone. With the description of what senses are being used, it creates an entirely new and
different experience for the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the boys arrive on the island, the reader wonders how they got there. The author
addresses this detail, The plane was shot down in flames. Nobody knows where we
are. We may be here a long time (34). This significant detail is included because it tells
the reader how the world is at the time for the group of boys. This gives some
background information to the reader on the situation of being stranded on an island,
not knowing where you are or if you will ever be rescued. Furthermore, after Simon s
death, Golding presents the detail of how Ralph is dealing with the death, Ralph,
cradling the conch, rocked himself to and fro (157). The author specifically included
Plath s state of being because it was the first death they have encountered of their own
since they ve been on the island. As the reader this affects my mood to be gloomy
because Ralph is traumatized from Simon s death. This incident contributes to the tone of
the novel, morose, because with the idea of not being rescued and a death the tone turns
Advance Directives Reflection
Advance Directives Reflection As a student nurse, we are taught that we are to
advocate for our patients and their needs. At first, it would seem to be a simple task.
However, I have learned that not all cases are easy to advocate for your patient. In
regards to advance directives, I have learned that it can be difficult to manage your
patient s wishes as well as their families and the conflicts that could arise from
disagreements about the treatment or healthcare. I feel that being a nursemeans not only
to advocate for their patient, but to also help their family understand their loved one s
decision. I have had the privilege to watch a very good nurse handle such a case while
sitting in a hospital waiting room awaiting my sister s chemo treatment. The nurse was in
a situation where the wife did not want to receive her... Show more content on

The nurse noted that both parties were stressed and in disagreement so she inquires to
the wife as to why she does not want to receive chemo treatment any longer. The nurse
addresses the patient s concerns and it is revealed that the side effects of the chemo
treatment is deterring the patient s willingness to continue with any further treatments. In
addressing the new situation, the nurse offers to contact the doctor to see if she could be
switched to a different chemo plan or to possibly change the medication that is meant to
deal with the side effects of chemo. The wife is happy to discuss more options with the
doctor and the husband learned that the issue was not the cancer but the side effects of
chemo that was bothering his wife. The nurse follows up on the new situation, calls the
doctor, and discussions begin regarding the patient s new options. Throughout the whole
process, the nurse was the epitome of listening skills, addressing patient / family
concerns, offering support and following up on new information learned about the
patient. The nurse was involved in her patients care with full
