Tally Youngblood Response
Personal response: I liked the book, ( removed HTML ) Specials ( removed HTML ) ,
because it continued to tell the story about Tally Youngblood and her adventures in the
wild. Some things that happened in the story could happen in real life. The people in
these books seem to lack any sort of moral ethics. This was the third book in the (
removed HTML ) Uglies ( removed HTML ) series. Plot: The story began were the (
removed HTML ) Pretties ( removed HTML ) left off. Tally got accepted to this new
special circumstances group, called the Cutters. They made their life Icy by cutting
their wrists. The group is a bunch of teenagers with bones of steel that repair
themselves. They go on these really hard missions to stop the Uglies from spreading the
brain cure. The brain cure was an injection given to people who did not want to be a
Bubble Head anymore. Ordinary Pretties, might live their whole life without meeting a
Special. Throughout the series of these books, Tally s entire personality shifted and
changed constantly as she underwent not just plastic surgery, but mental surgery. It was
really frustrating knowing Tally had been brainwashed, but she refused to believe it....

Essay R.L.Polk Case Study
Introduction:

What is the business rationale for making the technology investment? This is one of the
most important questions to ask. Almost all companies depend on some technology
solution to deliver goods and services. Investing in new technologies for the sake of
having the latest up to date systems, just does not seem to cut it in the minds of most
industry executives, nor does trying to rationalize a major technology investment solely
on the basis of reducing ongoing maintenance costs of the old systems. Information
technology usually does not have a direct impact on the bottom line. IT is applied to
business processes, and it is those business processes that increase revenue or reduce
expenses [Berman,Knight]. This implies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After evaluating different technologies R.L. Polk decided to implement grid computing,
service oriented architecture and Oracle database due to the new capabilities it offered.

A garbage can model of IT value portrays the factors most organizations confront when
making investment in technology [Henry C. Lucas Jr]. According to Henry C. Lucas
Garbage Can model the value of a project depends on the level with which the variable
affecting a project such as management buy in, technology, cost, and IT staff converge
to produce a useful output. The level of this convergence determines the value derived
from the project. If an application is ideal for an organization and is configured and
implemented correctly but is not embraced by the users it will not produce the
anticipated value. In cases where technology becomes intertwined with the strategy of
the organization, as was the case in the R.L Polk case study, it becomes even harder to
determine the true value of the solution. In these scenarios the direct benefits might be
easier to calculate, but assigning the value of the indirect benefits to the technology
becomes difficult. For this reason, I agree with the approach adopted by Vasconi in this
article. Creating a separate company for developing the new solution not only increases
the probability of success, but it also makes it easier to measure the direct and indirect
benefits created by the solution. Vasconi effectively used the garbage can
Persuasive Essay On Commuting
Commuting to school can sometimes be a good thing or a bad thing. Some days, you
will love it and other days you will hate it.

Personally, I have mix feelings about commuting. Some days, I do want to live on
campus because I believe it will make my life easier. I m not entirely fond of traveling
back and forth from home to school all the time. It is tiring and annoying.

I live in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, which is 45 minutes away from Temple University.
I wake up every morning to catch the Septa bus, so it can take me to the train station. I
have to get up early, so I can arrive to class on time.

To get to Temple University, I have to take two trains to get there which is the Market
Frankford Line and the Broad Street Line. I travel to the suburbs to the city every week
and sometimes the weekend as well. Then, I have to travel back home, when I m done
with school or hanging out with friends on campus. I travel back and forth every day,
which is a struggle.

The transportation system doesn t help all the time and sometimes makes commuting
even more difficult. Septa is every commuter nightmare sometimes because sometimes
the buses and trains are running late and students will come late to their class, all out of
breath because they ran to get to class on time. Currently, I m running to my 10 a.m.
class all the time now because the trains are running late or it stops in the middle of
nowhere for no reason.

Sometimes Septa workers will go on strike, but that

4th Amendment Research Paper
In 1791, a vital document for the United States of America was written. The Bill of
Rights. James Madison fulfilled the Anti Federalists wishes by adding a list of rights to
the constitution in order for the document to be ratified. The Bill of Rights addresses
rights and freedoms which were violated under British rule. Although all 10 amendments
are important, I have analyzed each one and ranked their importance. In 1791, some
amendments would seem more important than others due to the recent events from the
Revolution. Each amendment is relevant in its own way but some are exercised more
than others by individuals in the United States. The first amendment of the Bill of Rights
is the most important amendment.
The most critical amendment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Bill Rights states, In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a
speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime
shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law,
and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the
witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor,
and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense 1. Legal Information Institute cites
the amendment, guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a
public trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial
jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and
evidence against you for criminal defendants8. The amendment makes sure that a citizen
charged has the right to defend themselves in court. Following the sixth amendment, I
believe that the Eighth amendment is the next most significant
The Misrepresentation Of Arabs Culture In Hollywood
The misrepresentation of minorities is frequent in Hollywood films and Arabs are
one of the many minority groups Hollywood misrepresent. Arabs are portrayed
negatively in films for long time even before 9/11. The Arabs characters are portrayed
with always having accent, wearing traditional attire, untrustworthy, aggressive and
almost always associated with terrorism. The continuously falsification could lead to
stereotypes, misjudgment, and damage to Arabic culture. There are handful of movies
released featuring Arabs characters in a negative way although the one that caught
my attention is Rules of Engagement. The film Rules of Engagement, was produced
by Scott Rudin and Richard D. Zanuck, which was released in March 31st 2000. The
film star leading characters are Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones. The film
illustrates how misrepresentation of Arabs culture and tradition is being normalized.
The film is about a U.S. Marines whose base was in Yemen and had conflict with the
civilians. The Arabs in the film were portrayed as violent people who were killing the
Marines at the U.S. Embassy, where the civilians were protesting. The film set
unacceptable image of Arabs. In American society where technology is advanced image
is a big deal because society perceive image as important. Hollywoodas the biggest
entertainer in the world set unacceptable image of Arabs and the images has a power to
change people s perspective of how to view/interpret the
Maggie A Girl Of The Streets Essay
Can one escape the slums and rise to riches? Is it possible for just anyone to live the
American Dream? In Stephen Crane s Maggie, A Girl of the Streets, Crane clearly
disagrees with the statement above. He believes that a person s life is going to follow
the same path as his or her parents. This means that those people are products of their
own environment. Crane portrays this belief by describing the lives of Maggie, Jimmie,
and Ms. Johnson in order to exemplify this concept. In Stephen Cranes Maggie, A Girl of
the Streets, Crane shows that people are products of their own environment in order to
prove that they cannot escape their surroundings. Maggie, the main character in Crane
s novella, is a product of her own environment. Her environment is the bowery in New
York s lower east side. Every day is a struggle for Maggie, who has to deal... Show more

Johnson, the mother of Maggie and Jimmie, is another example of someone who is a
product of their own environment. Ms. Johnson is the complete opposite of an ideal
mother. She is an alcoholic and has no regard for her children. Distinctly this is seen
when Crane states The mother s massive shoulders heaved with anger. Grasping the
urchin by the neck and shoulder she shook him until he rattled (Crane 8). The urchin,
whom she is grabbing, is her own son Jimmie. This shows that she does not even care
for her own kids. When Ms. Johnson is being too abusive for Maggie and Jimmie to
handle, they go to the old lady in order to keep safe from their mother. Also, Ms.
Johnson rejects to take in Maggie when she is wandering the streets. When Ms.
Johnson fins out the Maggie is dead, she weeps for her daughter. This is moral
hypocrisy because she is trying to express her morality when she has no morals. But
Ms. Johnson cannot act any different. She is trapped in a living hell, also known as the
Bowery. The way she acts reflects her surroundings, which makes her a product of her
own
