Situation 1: Difficult Neighbours

Student A: You are at a police station to complain about your


neighbours. They are crazy! Describe your neighbours and the
problems you have. Mention the place you live in, location (upstairs,
downstairs, next door). Talk about all the things that they do to annoy
you.

Student B:You are a very diligent police officer. Student A wants to


complain about his/her neighbours. Ask questions about location
(upstairs, downstairs, next door), and about neighbours’ behaviours
that annoy him/her. Tell about your personal experience with your neighbours.

Suggested language and vocabulary: Siimple present, present Continuous and vocabulary related to the
topic.

Situation 2: Holidays

Student A: You are on holiday in Cartagena with your best friends and
your family. You are doing lots of interesting activities and having a
wonderful time. Student B calls you and asks about all the activities you
are doing. Answer his/her questions and ask about what your friend is
doing.

Student B: You are on holiday in Bogotá with your friends and your
family. You are doing many activities and having a good time. Call student
A and ask about all the activities he/she is doing. Answer his/her
questions and ask about what your friend is doing. Correspondingly, answer the questions about what you are
doing.

Suggested language and vocabulary: present continuous, the weather, music, clothing, food, places to visit,
places to do some exercise, etc.

Situation 3: A talent Contest

Students A and B: Discuss if you are talented people. What are you good
at? Exchange information and find out your talents in music, sports or good

Situation 4: Sightseeing in Bogotá

Student A: You are a tourist guide in Bogotá. Give student B information


about the weather in Bogotá and what he/she can do when it’s sunny or rainy.

Student B: You are a foreigner visiting Bogotá for the first time. Ask about the
weather in the city and what you can do there. Ask about some places to go
and what you can do there.

Situation 5: Favourite times

Student B: Student A is a new friend at the university. Tell him/her about


your favourite time of day, month, season, holiday etc. Additionally, tell
him/her about the things you like and dislike doing.

Situation 6: Preferences

Students A and B: Today it is your first day in an English


course. At the break time you are drinking coffee and want
to know more about the student next to you. Ask and
answer questions about his/her personal information and
what he/she likes and dislikes, talk about sports, TV, music,
clothing, etc.

Suggested language and vocabulary: Simple present, present Continuous. Expressions with like, love, hate,
don’t mind, don’t like, etc.
