Page |4

Make sure you move your feet well to be in the right position for your shots.

Timing:

You have to pay close attention to hitting the ball just right at the perfect moment.

top of form.

Check how well a player can defend when necessary.

Attacking Shots:

Evaluate how good a player is at playing aggressive shots.

Shot Execution under Pressure:

Look at how well a player handles difficult situations when making shots.

2: Match Simulations Evaluation:

KPIs:
Page |5

3: Dealing with Tough Bowlers:

When facing skilled bowlers,

What We Focus On:

How Well You Handle Good Bowlers:

Your technique against top-notch bowling attacks.

What We Measure:

You’re Average against Top Bowlers:

How many runs you usually make against the best bowlers.

Ability to Face Different Bowling Styles:

How good you are at handling different ways bowlers deliver the ball.

4: Consistency Metrics:

What We Look At:

-How Often You Score Runs:

How consistent you are in making runs.

What We Measure:

-You’re Average:

The typical number of runs you score.

-Number of Fifties and Hundreds:

Counting how many times you reach these scoring milestones.

-Conversion Rate of Starts into Big Scores:

How often you turn good starts into high scores.

2. Bowler Assessment:
1. Accuracy:

Measure how consistently the bowler can deliver the ball to a specific spot. This can be evaluated by
analyzing the number of deliveries hitting the stumps or a predefined target area.

2. Speed:

Assess the bowler's pace, as faster deliveries can be challenging for batsmen. Radar guns can be used to
measure the speed of each delivery.
Page |8

3. Variation:

Evaluate the ability to bowl different types of deliveries such as yorkers, bouncers, slower balls, and spin
variations. A diverse bowling arsenal makes a bowler more unpredictable and effective.

4. Swing or Seam Movement:

Analyze the capability of the bowler to make the ball move either in the air (swing) or off the pitch
(seam). This can trouble batsmen and lead to wickets.

5. Economy Rate:

Calculate the number of runs conceded per over. A low economy rate indicates the bowler's ability to
control the game and build pressure on the batsmen.

6. Wicket-taking Ability:

Track the number of wickets taken by the bowler in each match. Quality bowlers consistently contribute
to wicket columns.

7. Dot Ball Percentage:

Assess the percentage of deliveries that result in no runs (dot balls). This reflects a bowler's ability to
create pressure and restrict scoring opportunities.
Page |9

8. Fitness and Endurance:

Consider the bowler's fitness level and endurance, especially in longer formats like Test matches. A
bowler who can maintain performance over extended periods is valuable.

3: Fielder Examination:

1. Catching Ability:

- Technique:

Assess the fielder's catching technique, including hand positioning and body balance.

- Diving and Stretching:

Evaluate the ability to dive or stretch to catch balls that are out of reach.

2. Throwing Accuracy:

- Throwing Technique:

Evaluate the fielder's throwing technique, considering arm strength, accuracy, and speed.

- Quick Release:

Measure how quickly the fielder releases the ball when throwing to the stumps.

3. Ground Fielding:

- Fielding Positioning:
Page |
10

Assess how well the fielder positions themselves to cut off boundaries and prevent easy
singles.

- Stopping Power:

Evaluate the ability to stop balls cleanly and prevent them from going through.

4. Throwing under Pressure:

- Accuracy under Pressure:

Assess the fielder's accuracy when throwing under pressure, such as in tight situations or during
run-outs.

5. Fitness:

- Endurance:

Consider the fielder's endurance over the course of a match, especially for those in key fielding
positions.

6. Decision Making:

- Judgment:

Assess the fielder's judgment in deciding when to attempt a catch, dive, or throw.

- Risk Management:

Evaluate decision-making in risky situations to avoid unnecessary mistakes.

7. Overall Contribution:

- Statistics:

Consider fielding statistics, including catches taken, run-outs affected, and boundaries saved.

- Consistency:

Assess the fielder's consistency in maintaining high standards across matches.

5: ICT Applications for Performance Analysis:

Stats Analysis Tools:

Use tools to look at numbers like batting averages, bowling rates, and fielding. This
helps see what a player is good at and where they can improve.

Performance Apps:

Apps that track how fast players run, how agile they are, and how fit they are.
This info helps understand their fitness and find areas to get better.

1. Video Tools:
Use software to watch and study players' moves in videos. This helps coaches give
specific advice on technique, fielding, and bowling.

2. Wearable Devices:

Devices players wear to track things like heart rate and tiredness. This helps manage how much
players train and prevents injuries.

3. Virtual Reality Training:

Use simulations to make players feel like they're in a match. This helps practice decision-
making under pressure.

6. Simulation Tools:

Use software to make scenarios like real matches. This helps players plan and improve their
skills.

7. Cloud Platforms:

Use online platforms for sharing data and feedback. This helps coaches and players
communicate and understand each other better.

8. Self-assessment Apps:

Make mobile apps for players to check their own performance. Players can see their stats, set
goals, and take responsibility for their improvement.

9. GPS for Fielding:

Use GPS devices to see how players move during fielding. This helps decide where players should stand
and improves team fielding.
