PROBE LENGTH Figure 1 – Sample Probe
• The probe model number indicates its length. Information Label
• The model numbers are in the form FMP-LL3-XXX, where XXX = the tank diameter in inches plus 5".
• For example, the FMP-LL3-101 probe is for 8' (2.4 m) tanks as determined by the equation 96" + 5" = 101".
NOTE: Make sure to consider the riser height and overhead clearance when selecting a probe length.

FLOAT KITS
14.0" (356 mm)
Float kits that accommodate 2”, 3”, and 4” risers are available for both diesel Minimum Manhole Cover
fuel and gasoline. Density and phase separation float kits are also available.
Kits include a product and water float; product floats are white or clear,
6.0" (152 mm)
gasoline water floats are red, and diesel water floats are blue. Order one float Minimum
set for each digital inventory and leak detection probe.

DENSITY FLOAT 3.0" (76

mm)

The product float and density float are matched and must be purchased as
8.0" (203 mm)
a set. For information about installing and programming density floats, see Reference
Spacers
Density Measurement Option Installation Guide, p/n 000-0527.
NOTE: To help avoid unreliable probe performance, make sure to use float
kits that have been approved by Franklin Electric.
ULLAGE
MOUNTING PROBES
Product Float
Install Digital Inventory & Leak Detection probes so they rest on the bottom PRODUCT
of the fuel tank. They include a top spacer above the probe head for use with
3" or 4" risers, a bottom spacer below the probe head, and a probe foot that
mounts at the bottom of the probe shaft. When using a 2" riser, remove the
Water Float
top spacer and replace the bottom spacer with the 2" spacer included with
the 2" floats. When using a 3" riser, break off the tabs on the top spacer and
Probe end held
replace the bottom spacer. No modifications are needed with 4" risers. Do .45" (11.42 mm)
Above Bottom of Tank
not suspend leak detection probes.

OPERATION MODES
Digital Inventory & Leak Detection probes have two modes of operation:
• LL3 Mode uses Universal Device Protocol to communicate digitally and provide enhanced functionality. This mode may
be used with any EVO 200, 400, 600, & 6000 and any EVO 550/5000 system with a firmware version greater than 2.6.0.
• LL2 Emulation Mode allows for communication using the LL2 protocol. This mode may be used with the EVO ™Series, T5
Series, Colibri™, TS‑1001/2001, TS-504/508, and TS-750.

PROBE SPLICE KIT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
