Background of the Study

The use of technology into education has emerged as a key element in

raising students' academic proficiency in a time of fast technological advancement.
Technology is now a necessary tool for modern education since it has changed how
students access, analyze, and interact with knowledge. This study intends to
examine how technology affects students' academic competency while weighing its
advantages and potential disadvantages. Understanding how technology affects
learning outcomes is crucial in a time when digital literacy is crucial.

According to Shweta, Linga, Reddy, and Janace (2020) Incorporating

technology in education enhances student learning, increases outside-of-class
engagement, and diversifies learning opportunities. This transformation has
transformed course material delivery, diversified learning opportunities, and made
course material easily digestible for diverse students. The focus has shifted from
content distribution to content learning, recognizing that technology competency may
not be the sole determinant of learning. main goal of the course, doing so helps
students attain their academic objectives.

Egemen et al. (2018) highlight the significant impact of technology on high

school education, emphasizing the integration of computers and internet access in
secondary schools. This environment facilitates easy sharing of teaching concepts
but requires teachers with practical skills and technical tools. The research also
discusses the relationship between technology and teacher-student communication,
and the importance of online learning.

The tremendous impact of contemporary technology on the teaching and

learning process is explored by Ghory, S et.al, (2021) in their study. They draw
attention to the fact that technology has ingrained itself into our daily lives and that
education will inevitably incorporate it. In-depth secondary data analysis is used in
this paper to assess the effect of contemporary technology on schooling. Education
has undergone a technological revolution, with instructors being able to
communicate material more effectively and students having quicker access to it.
Learning has become more interesting and pleasurable as a result of technology's
integration into the educational system.
Shahnaz, Pirani, and Hussain's (2019) study on technology in early
childhood education in Pakistan highlights its importance in cognitive development. It
suggests that technology-based instruction helps students develop 21st-century
skills, multitask, communicate more, and understand complex concepts. The study
suggests that schools should promote technology-based instruction to address
resource shortages, enhance evaluation processes, and address eye strain and
declining interest in reading.

In a review directed by Taha et al. ( 2023), This paper examines the impact
of technology on learning, highlighting its role in shaping performance and
effectiveness. It emphasizes the interaction between humans and technology, as
well as the design of educational tools. The research suggests optimizing
technology's role in promoting effective learning experiences, emphasizing the
importance of learning outcomes in course design. The findings provide valuable
insights for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders.

A research by Carstens et al. (2021) looked at how technology affects

student learning. The study concentrated on how technology is changing how it is
utilized in classrooms and how it affects learning. While technology can increase
learning opportunities and make students more comfortable, it can also present
problems that could harm students' ability to develop their fine motor skills and
problem-solving abilities. Surveys of K–12 teachers were used in the study to
determine how technology affected their classes. The results highlighted the need for
further training for both instructors and students in order to successfully incorporate
technology into the classroom. The research also showed that although technology
can raise managerial issues, pupils are more comfortable and engaged with it.

This research examines the impact of technology on studying, examining

its current use in education, its benefits, and potential drawbacks. It also evaluates
how technology influences students' academic performance, motivation, and study
habits. This understanding is crucial for educators, institutions, and policymakers to
adapt to the evolving educational landscape and make informed decisions about
technology integration. The research aims to inform the development of effective
strategies and policies that maximize technology's benefits while mitigating potential
disadvantages, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on technology's role in
education.

Statement of the Problem

The research investigates the influence of technology on students'

academic performance, concentrating on their perceptions of technology-enabled
learning, its efficiency, and its impact on educational quality. The rise of technology
also gave way to the rise of internet and so it also assesses the importance of
internet use in academic activities and its impact on performance. The study
underlines the significance of technology in the learning processes of pupils.
Preliminary Review of Related Literature

The effect of technology-based education on student learning outcomes and

engagement was examined in the study by Rashi Malik (2023). The study found that
technology-based learning improved student learning outcomes, such as academic
performance, knowledge retention, and critical thinking abilities. It also raised student
motivation, engagement, and the quality of teacher-student interactions. The study
did note certain difficulties, though, including the need for technical assistance and
potential distractions in the classroom. These findings illustrate the advantages and
difficulties of incorporating technology in the classroom and have major implications
for educators, legislators, and technology developers who wish to improve the
caliber and efficacy of technology-based education.

In a separate study conducted by Zehra et al. (2018), the potential of

technology-assisted assessment for learning was explored through the utilization of
Kahoot software. The research findings indicated that the integration of technology-
enriched methodologies aligns with students' individual learning strategies, ultimately
resulting in a positive impact on classroom dynamics, meaningful learning
experiences, and assessment practices. This study also emphasized the importance
of incorporating formative assessment activities within the learning process, as it
effectively shifts the ownership of learning from the teacher to the student, thereby
promoting a more student-centered approach to education.

According to a study conducted by Surendran and Norazlinda (2018)

educators need to have an understanding of technology in order to seamlessly
incorporate it into their teaching and facilitation methods. This not only enhances the
learning experience but also improves overall productivity. To achieve this educators
should be able to identify and choose tools that align with their teaching and learning
goals. Proficiency, in technology is crucial as it greatly influences lesson planning
and the use of teaching strategies. Furthermore research has shown that being
leads to higher levels of student achievement.
Teachers at a school with a variety of technologies looked into the transition
to a more student-centered pedagogical practice in a study by David Feist and Doug
Reid (2018). The goal of the study was to ascertain whether or not this change may
affect student achievement and engagement. The outcomes were favorable, with
many kids achieving greater academic success after the inclusion of student-
centered learning activities. This shows that student-centered teaching, especially
when used in conjunction with appropriate technology, can be successful in a variety
of educational environments and provide insights for institutions under pressure to
increase student achievement.

In a separate research study conducted by Rita et al. (2019), the utilization of

technology for learning support was explored within two different university faculties.
The research findings emphasized the importance of implementing well-structured
and carefully planned activities prior to integrating technology into the teaching and
learning process. It was discovered that technology serves as a motivational tool for
students, as it enhances their literacy skills and improves overall teaching and
learning efficiency.

Finally, Nina et al. (2018) delved into a discussion surrounding the seven
principles of good practice in undergraduate education and how technology can be
effectively integrated to cater to the learning patterns of digital natives. The study
identified various cost-effective technologies and tools, such as PowToon,
Educreation, PollEverywhere, and Kahoot, which can be utilized to enhance student
engagement and feedback within the learning process. To assess the impact of
technology integration on academic performance and student satisfaction, the
authors conducted a quasi-experimental study, aiming to align teaching styles with
the specific needs and preferences of digital natives. Through this study, the authors
aimed to provide educators with valuable insights and strategies for effectively
integrating technology into their teaching practices to cater to the unique learning
patterns of digital natives.
