TASK 52-31-17-870-803-A01
Description
1. Door Structure (Refer to FIGURE 52-31-17-991-001-A and FIGURE 52-31-17-991-002-A)
A. The cargo door structure has:
- the frames and beams,
- the vertical and horizontal edge members,
- the inner and outer skin,
- the door seal,
- the fire protection lining.
B. The cargo door structure is made of aluminium sheet metal and machined parts. Rivets attach
the parts together to form a torsion resistant structure. Sealant on the mating surfaces of the
parts prevents corrosion and makes them pressure tight.
C. The attachment fittings for the hydraulic actuators on the inner side of the cargo door are part
of the upper ends of the FR25A and FR26A.
D. The outer skin has a cut-out for the vent door. The inner side of the vent door has a cover.
E. An access panel for the door mechanism is installed on the lower side of the cargo door
structure. Indication windows allow the visual checking of the locked/unlocked (green/red)
position of the safety cams of the locking shaft.
F. At the upper edge member and beam No. 1, replaceable hinge assemblies with bronze bushings,
are installed to fit the cargo door to the fuselage.
G. Three blanking plugs, made from plastic, are installed in the hoist fittings on the outer side of
the cargo door.
H. Four adjustable screws are installed on the lower part of the cargo door. The adjustable screws
stop the movement of the cargo door when it is in the closed position and in line with the
aircraft fuselage.
J. The door seal is made of fabric reinforced silicon rubber. Retainers attach the door seal to the
edge members of the cargo door.
K. A drainage hose and a drainage valve are installed in the cargo door structure to drain the
condensed water.
L. The fire protection lining assembly with integral insulation is made of prepreg. The insulation is
made of PE-foam material lined with self-adhesive. The fire protection lining assembly is
attached to the inner skin of the cargo door with quick release fasteners.
2. Door Mechanism (Refer to FIGURE 52-31-17-991-001-A and FIGURE 52-31-17-991-002-A)
A. The door mechanism is installed in the lower part of the cargo door and has:
- the handle mechanism.
- the latching mechanism.

Operation
1. Refer to FIGURE 52-31-17-991-004-A and FIGURE 52-31-17-991-005-A.
2. When you push the flap of the handle mechanism into the cargo door, the flap mechanism unlocks
the door handle.
3. When you pull out the door handle (65˚), the locking shaft with the cams turns (red markings are
visible through the indication windows) in the direction UNLOCKED. The blockage of all the latching
hooks is released. At one end of the locking mechanism a cam on the sequence shaft moves in the
direction UNLOCKED. The blockage of the latching shaft releases, the vent door opens and the drift
pins retract.
4. When you pull up the door handle from LATCHED to the UNLATCHED position (126˚ = fully
open):
- the latching shaft turns.
- the over-center linking locks break.
- the four latching hooks moves through shaft levers, spring units, bellcranks and links to the
unlatched position.
5. When you press and move the lever of the interlock mechanism, the blockage of the latching shaft
releases.
6. When you move the door handle down from the fully open position (UNLATCHED) to the
LATCHED position (65˚)
- the latching shaft turns to the latched position.
- the shaft levers, spring units, bellcranks and links move the hook operating linkage to the over-
center position.
- all the latching hooks are engaged.
7. When you push the door handle of the handle mechanism 65˚ down (until the door handle is smooth
with outer contour of the cargo door), the locking shaft and the cams turn in the direction LOCKED
(the green markings are visible through the indication windows).

Introduction Illustrated Parts List (IPL)
1. General
A. The procedure recommended for finding a part number, or details of a part are in paragraph 2
of this introduction.
B. The IPL contains:
- illustrations that show an exploded view of the parts,
- the related detailed Parts Lists.
C. The IPL is used to identify, to get, keep and issue replacement aircraft parts and units.
D. AIRBUS S.A.S. has no responsibility for parts and/or units deleted or revised as a result if
airline initiated modifications are included.
E. Part numbers shown in this document are written to Air Transport Association of America
(ATA) Specification ISPEC 2200.
F. Illustrations are applicable to more than one customer.
G. In the Detailed Parts List, each figure has its own page numbering system that starts at zero.
2. How to use the IPL
A. To find a Part Number (P/N) in a Figure or Illustration you can either:
- Enter the PN in the SEARCH tool within the AirN@v / Workshop. This will show you the
Figure or Figures where this appears. Click on your chosen Fig/Item number to go open the
Figure.
- Or refer to the Alph/Numeric Parts List and find the PN. In the Fig/Item column it will
show you all the figures where this PN exists, and the Item number. Click one of these to
open the Figure.
3. Plan of the IPL
A. Indenture System of the Detailed Parts List
(1) The indenture system shows how parts and assemblies relate to their next higher
assemblies (NHA) as follows:

NOTE : Suppliers who manufacture parts for which AIRBUS S.A.S. has an exclusive
sale right are not given a vendor code.
- AIRBUS standard parts (Prefix DAN, NSA etc...) are given the supplier code of
the seller of the parts. If there is more than one seller, a dummy supplier code
VT0000 is assigned to the related P/N. In this case, the additional cross-
reference table gives, for each P/N the various supplier codes and their own P/N
if applicable.
NOTE : All relevant Supplier Codes are shown in the ’Vendors Name and Code
List’, which is a part of the IPL INTRO.
