What is computer? Parts of computer:
A computer is an electronic machine that is
used to solve our problems according to the
instructions given to it.

 Precautions while using computer:


1) Do not eat and drink near computers. 2) Do not run and play in computer lab.

3) Work quickly. 4) Do not share passwords and personal


information.

5) Enter and exit quietly. 6) Organize before leaving your area.


 Turn on a computer:
 Attach the power cables to the system Plug in the circuit and press button.

Drawing Shapes in Paint: Paint allows you to include readymade/customized
shapes in your drawing.

 Introduction to WordPad:
The WordPad file is saved with extension .rtf.
Steps to open WordPad:
 Click on the windows button in the lower left hand corner of the Desktop.
 Click All programs, then Accessories, then click the WordPad
Or
To open WordPad, Type” WordPad” In the search box on the task bar and the select
from the list of result.
 Writing practice on WordPad:
1. Write your full name on WordPad:
• Formatting: size of letters: 20, colour of letters: Red, font: Arial black, alignment:

2. Insert any picture from picture library and save it on desktop with your name.
3. Open existing file form your computer.
4. Write your introduction and set page as landscape orientation.
