    PLANTS DEPENDS ON THE SOIL FOR ALL THEIR MINERAL
    REQUIREMENTS.TO COMPENSATE IT, FERTILIZER ARE
    PROVIDEDIN THE FORM OF DUNG, MANURES, COMPOST
    MANURES AND GREEN MANURE. DUE TO SHORTLY SUPPLY OF
    SUCH TYPES OF MANURES,CHEMICAL MANURES ARE BEING
    COMMONLY USED THESE CHEMICAL MANURES ARE CALLED
    CHEMICAL FETRILIZER OR SIMPLY FERTILIZERS. APPLICATIONS
    OF FERTILIZER RESTORES THE FERTILITY OF THE SOIL. CHEMICAL
    FERTILIZER ARE CLASSIFIED INTO THE FOLLOWING THREE
    GROUPS ON THE BASIS OF MATERIALS SUPPLIED:
    1 NITROGEN FERTILLIZER e.g. AMMONIUM SULPHATE,
    NITRATE,UREA,NITRATE OF LIME, NITRATE OF SODA ETC.
    2 PHOSPHORUS FERTILIZER e.g. SUPERPHOSPHATE, BASIC SLAG
    3 POTTASIUM FERTILIZER e.g. SULPHATE OF POTASH, MURIATE
    OF POTASH, KALINITE
    4 CALCAREOUS FERTILIZER e.g. CALCIUM CYANAMIDE ETC.
    5 COMPOUMD FERTILIZER e.g. AMMOPHOS,NICIFOS ETC.
    FERTILIZER CONTAIN THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS IN A HIGHLY
    CONCENTRATED FORM AND AS SUCH THEY SHOULD BE USED
    WITH CATUION. IT ALWAYS ADVISIBLE TO APPLY THEM IN
    SMALL DOES UNDER EXPERT GUIDANCE. IF APPLIED IN EXCESS,
    THEY MAY DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD.

    DIFFERENT FERTILIZER MEASURING CYLINDER


    DISTILLED WATER

    PETRIDISH

    FILTER PAPER

    PROCEDURE
    TAKE ONE TYPE OF FERTILIZER SAY UREA.PREPARE DIFFERENT
    CONCENTRATIONS e.g. 0.5%,1%,1.5%,2.0%,2.5% AND 3.0% BY
    DISSOLVING 0.5g,1.0g,1.5g,2.0g,2.5g,3g OF UREA IN 100ML
    DISTILLED WATER RESPECTIVELY.
    TAKE 35 HEALTHY SEEDS OF CROP. TAKE SEVEN PETRIDISHES.
    LINE THEM WITH MOISTENED COTTON PADS OR DOUBLED
    FILTER PAPERS. PLACE 5 WATER SOAKED SEEDS IN EACH
    PETRIDISH. LABEL PETRIDISH A,B,C,D,E,F,G POUR SOLUTIONS
    CONTAINING UREA DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS IN EACH
    PETRIDISH CONTAINING SEEDS EXCEPT A. OBSERVE THE
    GROWTH. TREAT THE PETRIDISH A AS CONTROL. WAIT TILL
    RADICLE OF SEEDS COME OUT. RADICLE EMERGENCE IS
    CONSIDERED AS THE CRITERION FOR SEED GERMINATION. FIND
    OUT NOTE AND GERMINATION, FINAL ELONGATION OF
    HYPOCOTYL AND LENGTH OF THE ROOT IN EACH CASE AT THE
    TIME OF APPERANCE OF FIRST LEAF.

    CONCLUSION
    SEEDS OF DIFFERENT VARITIES SHOW DIFFERENT RATES OF
    GERMINATION. FURTHER THIS VARIATIONS IS INCREASED WHEN THEY
    ARE TREATED WITH DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF DIFFERENT
    FERTILIZERS. USE OF THE CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS INCREASES THE YIELD
    OF CROPS.AS MUCH 50%OF HIGH YEILD CROPS HAS BEEN ATTRIBUTED
    TO COMMERICIAL FERTILIZER.
