LESSON PLAN IN ARTS 1

I. Objective

At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

A. Knows that colors are seen in the surroundings - in both natural and man-made objects,

B. Uses creativity to create paints from nature and found materials,

C. Experiments on painting using different painting tools and paints and produce different

colors.

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Painting

B. Reference: K to 12 Curriculum Guide in Art.

C. Materials: Natural Resources (Hibiscus flower, leaves, and soil), paintbrush, bond

paper/watercolor paper.

D. Values Integration: Appreciation and Creativity

III. Learning Procedure:

A. Preliminaries

1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Cleanliness and Orderliness
4. Checking of Attendance

B. Motivation

The teacher will group the students into three and show various pictures (paintings) to the
pupils and the pupils will describe each picture in terms of colors and shapes observed.
C. Presentation
The teacher will show pictures of surroundings- in both natural and man-made objects.

The teacher will ask the colors of the objects in the pictures and let them identify other objects that
they saw in the classroom.

D. Discussion

The teacher will discuss the colors that are seen in nature and objects made by man and differentiate
the two.
Natural colors are derived from natural sources, such as fruits, vegetables, and minerals. These colors
are extracted using various methods such as pressing, boiling, and fermentation. They are considered
safe for human consumption and are often used in food products, cosmetics, and textiles.
Artificial colors or man-made, are made from synthetic chemicals and are not found in nature. They
are created in a laboratory and are often used to enhance the appearance of food products or other
consumer goods.
Natural colors come from natural sources while artificial colors are synthetic.

E. Application

The teacher will group the pupils into three groups and will give the them materials such as paint brush,
bond paper, and natural resources: flowers, leaves, and soil to create a natural painting material.
Using small amount of water, the teacher will demonstrate how to create a natural painting from the
materials given.
The teacher will let the pupils create their own painting using the natural paint they made.
The pupils will display their painting in the board after.
F. Generalization

The teacher will summarize the discussion and ask the students their lesson learned.

G. Assignment

Instruction:

Using man-made colors (crayons, watercolor, oil paint or water-based paint, colored pencil, etc.),
create a painting of your favorite object or place in a short bond paper.
