A special person: Fernanda
Fernanda Espionsa was born in San Pedro in Hunduras in 1973. She is the fourth of eleven children.Her
father was a teacher and her mother worked as a maid for rich families.When Fernanda was a child, she looked
very serious but she had a great sense of humour. She was interested in reading and she told stories. Her life
idol was Mother Thereza.She has never forgotten her words:”I can do no great things, only small things with
great love.”
When Fernanda was at school, her father Mr.David Espinosa taught her science and inspired her with love
of learning. He was the best teacher she has eve had.
Fernanda’s life changed completely when one of her friends lost his parents in a road accident and moved to
orphanagae because he had no family to live with. Fernanda visited him there and felt very sorry for those
children; so she decided to help them and wanted to open an orphanage to try to give orphans a good life.
Fernanda et Emilio in 1997 and they got married in 2000.They opened and orphanage in 2006 near Quito
and they still work together.Now they have more than 100 children living in the orphanage.
Fernanda is a hero for many people in her country because she is devoting her life to help children.She is a
special woman who deserves all the admiation and respect.

My Best Friend
I have many friends but I like Nourcine the most. She is my best friend. I call her Nour in short. She is of the
same age as I am.
We are students of the same school . We study in the same class. She is very intelligent, yet she is never proud.i
repect her friendly and simple nature. We go together to school on foot.She helps me in my English
lessons.Sometimes I help her in Mathematics.
In the evening, we play crosswords together. It is a common hobby. Croswwords helps us in improving our
skills of thinking.
Nour is aslo a good volley ball player.Sometimes, we go together for an outing.Once, Nour was away for a few
days.I missed her very much.
Her father is a builder . He builds houses. Her mother is caring and loving. They love me like their own
daughter.i often visit them.i love Nour. I like nad enjoy her company.
