This paper proposes a method to detect fake currency notes using Python programming and image processing techniques. It involves acquiring an image of the currency note, converting it to grayscale, performing edge detection, image segmentation, extracting features, and comparing the features to stored data to determine if the note is real or fake. The key steps are preprocessing the image, extracting edges, segmenting objects, reducing features, and classifying using k-means clustering and support vector machine models. This method aims to help identify counterfeit currency in circulation.

Fake currency is the money produced without the approval of the government, creation of it is considered as a great Offence. Counterfeit money has always existed an issue that has caused many problems in the market[4]. In recent years a lot of fake currency note is being printed which have caused great loss and damage towards the society[10]. India is a country where it consists of different types of currencies and coins[3]. So, it has become a necessity to develop a tool to detect fake currency. This project proposes an approach that will detect fake currency note being circulated in our country by using their python programming. Python is a suitable language for fast learning and real-world programming. Python is a powerful high-level programming language easy to learn compared to other language[19].
In this paper, we are going to introduce that how Python
programming language is used to detect fake currency. Python programming language is also a fast-growing language currently, also 4th Most-Used Language at GitHub[19]. Currency duplication also known as counterfeit currency is a vulnerable threat on economy. Although fake currency is being printed with precision, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) says that they can be detected with some effort. According to an RBI report, fake notes of the new Rs 500 series saw a 37% rise in Fig.1 Flowchart to Detect Fake Currency using 2019-20, and there was a fall in circulation of Rs 2000 notes[7]. System Implementation:- 2. Grey Scale: Converting a color image to a gray
1. Image Acquisition: An image of a currency that image requires more information about the color should be tested or verified as a real currency is image. The pixel color in the picture is a combination considered a system input. Image capture can be of three colors Red, Green, and Blue (RGB). obtained using techniques such as scanning the Similarly, a Grayscale image can be viewed as a image or clicking the image with the phone and single layer image. Different techniques can be used uploading it to the application. to turn a color image into a gray image. 3. Edge Detection: Edge detection is a method of image processing to determine the boundaries of objects within images . It works by detecting discoloration in the light. Edge detection is used for image classification and data extraction in areas such as image processing, computer vision, and machine vision. The purpose of a radical change in image brightness is to capture important events and changes in worldly possessions. Edge discovery helps to find all the ROI edges needed to perform various tasks in the later stages. 4. Segmentation: Image fragmentation is the process of dividing an image into many parts. This is often used to identify objects or other important information in digital images. [10] shows a few examples of techniques that can be used to make a distinction. E. Output Feature A feature is a type of size reduction that best represents interesting parts of an image as a combined feature vector. This method is useful when image sizes are large and a reduced feature is required to quickly complete tasks such as image matching and retrieval. Features are extracted and used for comparison in the next step. 5. Comparison: Elements extracted from a previous step are used to compare with the deposited features and the results are presented as real or false currency. 6. Proposed Program: The proposed system uses image processing to determine the type of currency. The inserted or scanned image is provided by a system that can be .png and the output indicates whether the currency is real or not. The process consists of techniques such as pre-image processing, gray scale conversion, edge detection, separation, subtraction and comparing aspect shows a sketch of the buildings belonging to the proposed system.

Using Python module such as openCV, k Means, SVM –
support vector machine. The openCV module help us to read the Digital images and work on it. OpenCV module of the Python is very much vast module to use. k-Means is used for clustering the features. It is very useful for classification. It classify into groups and make a cluster. Compare the cluster with the information store in the data base and display the desire output. SVM (support vector machine) as all the attributes are in different plane it is difficult to execute. With the help of this module or say libraries present in sciket learn help us to calculate and convert on dimension to another.
