JUMPER SETTING FOR MEI-633 CARDS

CIU(CENTRAL INTERLOCKING UNIT)
In CIU the cards in which jumper setting and software loading is to be done are

� CVC (VITAL INTERLOCKING CARD) .


� CCC (COMMUNICATION PROCESSOR CARD).

The configuration is done both for Channel-A and Channel -B

� CVC cards contains three CPU's on board namely SVP,VP1,VP2 and Switches
dedicated are SW3,SW8,SW7 respectively.
� For software dumping in CVC card jumper used are K13,K59,K63(watch dog
jumper) & K65.
� Connector K2,K42,K48,K1(RS-232) used for loading Executive and Application
software.
� SW1 & SW2 are used for assigning Station ID .

NOTE: : Indicates the starting of BIT 1 (two pins together form a BIT(or
Pole) i.e 1&16 , 2&15 , 3&14 so on)

� BIT-1 and BIT- 2 are dedicated for MODE(Online or Offline)

STATION ID (SW1 & SW2)
� SW1 & SW2 used for Station ID the configuration starts from SW1(BIT-1) and it
continues in SW2 (BIT-1of SW2 is treated as BIT -9 ).
� Used BITs are Opened and Unused BITs are shorted as per the ID allocated .

SOFTWARE LOADING :

BEFORE LOADING

� The K65 jumper should be Closed(Shorted).


� WATCH DOG JUMPERS K59 , K13 , K63 should be open ,applicable for both
APPLICATION & EXECUTIVE S/W.
� The Switches SW3,SW8,SW7 should be configured to OFFLINE mode.

EXECUTIVE S/W:

� K2 : FRC connector is used for executive software dumping in SVP


SVP.
� K48 : FRC connector is used for executive software dumping in VP1.
� K42: FRC connector is used for executive software dumping in VP2.

APPLICATION S/W:

SVP

� K1(RS-232) : 9 Pins connector is used for loading Application S/W.


� K9 : RM connector is used for Checksum Verification .
VP1

� K64: RM connector is used for Application loading, Checksum verification and


Station ID.
VP2

� K66: RM connector is used for Application loading, Checksum verification and


Station ID.

AFTER LOADING

� K65 jumper should be Opened.


� WATCH DOG JUMPERS K59,K13,K63 should be shorted.
� The Switches SW3,SW8,SW7 should be configured back to ONLINE mode.

� The K28 jumper should be Closed(Shorted).


� WATCH DOG JUMPERS K15 should be open ,applicable for both
APPLICATION & EXECUTIVE S/W.
� The SW3 switch should be configured to OFFLINE mode.

EXECUTIVE S/W:

� K18 : FRC connector is used for executive software dumping

APPLICATION S/W:
� K1 (RS-232): Is used for loading Application software and for Checksum
verification .

AFTER LOADING

� K28 jumper should be Opened.


� WATCH DOG JUMPERS K15 should be Shorted.
� The SW3 Switch should be configured to ONLINE mode.
OC (OBJECT CONTROLLER)

In Object Controller the Cards that need Jumper Setting and Software loading are

� IOCOM (INPUT OUTPUT COMMUNICTION CARDS)


� OCCI (INPUT WFM CARDS)
� OCCO (OUTPUT WFM CARDS)
� OVCO (VITAL CUTOFF CARD)

The configuration is to be done for both CH-A & CH-B for IOCOM Card

� IOCOM card consists of Three Switches

� SW1: Is used for configuring Channel,Mode and IOCOM number .

� SW2 &SW3 : are configured as per the WFM connected to that particular OC.

� BIT- 1 to BIT-5 is used to determine the OC(IOCOM) number .


� BIT-6 is used for Channel(CH-A or CH-B).
� BIT-7 & BIT-8 is used for Mode Selection .
� Shorted BIT is binary ZERO & Opened BIT is binary ONE

� SW3 & SW2 are used to provide the information of the WFMs connected to the
particular OC.
� The connect status of a WFM is indicated by two BITs(i.e BIT-1&BIT-2 together
represent a single WFM card) & maximum 5 input ,3output WFM can be
configured .
� The configuration starts from Input WFM(BIT-1 & BIT-2) and followed by
Output WFM.
� If the WFM cards are less than its maximum capacity that an OC can
accommodated then First the Input WFM is to be configured followed by output
WFM then Non connected card .
� Input WFM [BIT(X) = OPEN , BIT(X+1)=SHORT ]
� Output WFM[BIT(X) =OPEN , BIT(X+1)= OPEN]
� Non Connected WFM[BIT(X) =SHORT, BIT(X+1) =SHORT]

SOFTWARE LOADING :

BEFORE LOADING

� The K25 jumper should be closed(Shorted).


� WATCH DOG JUMPERS K15 should be open for EXECUTIVE S/W
loading .
� The SW1 switch should be configured to OFFLINE mode.

EXECUTIVE S/W:
� K 3 : FRC connector is used for Executive software dumping

AFTER LOADING

� K 25 jumper should be Opened.


� WATCH DOG JUMPERS K15 should be shorted.
� The SW1 Switch should be configured to ONLINE mode.

� The WFM cards has to be configured in respect of its Serial


number(address),Master/Slave, Mode and Input/Output Relay connected status.
� Each cards consists of 6 switches (SW1,SW2,SW3,SW4,SW5,SW6)
� For Master section dedicated switches are SW2,SW4,SW6.
� For Slave section the dedicated switches are SW1,SW3,SW5.
WFM ADDRESS CONFIGURATION :

� SW2 for Master and SW1 for Slave is dedicated for allocation of WFM address.

� SW2 & SW1 (BIT-1,BIT2,BIT-3 )are used for configuration of WFM numbers
for Master and Slave(which should be same or identical ) .
� First the Input WFM cards should be configured followed by Output cards .

THE ABOVE CONFIGURATION SHOULD MATCH WITH THE SW1 SETTING
IN IOCOM CARDS OF THE SAME OC.

CPU MATER/SLAVE CONFIGURATION & WFP MODE CONFIGURATION

SW4 or SW3

� SW4 of Master section & SW3 of Slave section are used for CPU Master/ slave
configuration and Mode selection .
� BIT-1 & BIT-2 for MASTER/SLAVE Selection.
� BIT-3 & BIT-4 for MODE selection(both for SW4 & SW3 should be identical ).
� BIT-5 to BIT-8 are unused BITs ,so are left OPEN for both SW3&SW4.

� The Configuration parameter in a Vital Cutoff card(OVC) is the number of

� OVC cards has three jumpers K13(FIRST O/P WFM), K12(SECOND O/P WFM),
K11(THIRD O/P WFM)
� Each of the Jumpers are having three pins (pin1,pin2,pin3).
� = Indicates the starting of Pin1.

PANEL PROCESSOR

� In Panel Processor ,PCC card need jumper setting and Loading of software.
� Input and Output cards need only jumper setting .

� RM Jumper setting in OC master(CIU)depends on the Number of OC(0 to 3)
connected to the PORT of CIU.
� OC-MASTER(CIU) RM is configured same as the LAST OC RM configuration
that is connected to the CIU.

� K5 is used for Software Loading ,as per the RS-485 to OFC bi-dir-converter
place of allocation in different unit of EI.
� NOTE:
NO NEED OF JUMPER SETTING IN RS485 to OFC BI-DIR-CONVERTER
USED IN PANELPROCESSOR , COUNTERBOX,VDU .(SW1 Switch all BITs
should be OPEN)
