MODULE A - Ladies Hairstyle

Mannequin

TIME
2 Hours 45 Minutes

Description:
The Competitor should create a commercial salon colour, haircut and finished style. This must be as
close as possible to a commercial hair design, worn by the everyday female. Competitor should use the
excess hair from Test A glued with glue and tape to be used as a hair extension for Module B. (Hair
Extension – Tape).

Theme//Wishes:
Competitors will receive the Wishes for the look just before the start of Module A. The Competitor will
have fifteen minutes to think about the wishes then the module will start.
The wishes will be decided by the Chief Judge. These wishes will be released just before Test A starts
with picture or pictures. Competitors must follow the clients wishes.

Wishes:
• Haircut – As close as possible to the Picture
• Colour – Must use the colour / colours in the picture as close as possible– but
placement of the colour / colours is Free Choice and must be commercial
• Finished Style/Texture - Free Choice

Haircut:
• The hair must be cut
• All hairdressing cutting tools are allowed
• The haircut must follow the client’s wishes

Colour:
• All of the hair must be coloured
• The colour should be as close as possible to the client’s wishes and be a
commercial design
• You Must USE Bleaching Powder The amount of grams and placement for
bleaching is free choice
• You can ONLY use/choose from these colour ranges: Top Chic, Elumen and Oxycur Platin

Finished Style:
• The Finished Style/Texture is free choice
• The Competitors must blow-dry and Style the hair
• All tools are allowed
• All styling products are allowed
• NO hairpins, clips, bobby pins, hairbands or ornamentation can be used
• Hair cannot cover the eyes – it is a salon wearable style

MODULE B - Ladies Hair Extensions

Mannequin + Hair Extensions

TIME
3 Hours 15 min

Description
The Competitor must use the mannequin from Test A module and transform the look into a Fashion
hairstyle reflecting the wishes. The hair extension from Test A will be given for this module. The finished
style should honour the client’s wishes for the Module. This look will be created for a fashion magazine.

Theme/Wishes:
Competitor will receive the wishes for the look just before the start of Module B from the Chief Judge. The
Competitor will have fifteen minutes to think about the wishes then the module will start.
The wishes will be decided by the Chief Judge. These wishes will be released just before Test B starts
with a picture or pictures. Competitors must follow the clients wishes.

Wishes:
• Haircut – As close as possible to the Picture
• Colour – Must follow the clients wish and use the two colours and Minimum 20 grams of each colour.
Placement of these colours is free choice.
• Finished Style/Texture– Free Choice

Haircut:
• The hair must be cut
• All hairdressing scissors and razors are allowed
• Clippers are allowed
• The haircut must follow the clients wishes
• Hair Extensions can be cut

Colour:
• All hair must be re-coloured
• Fashion colouring as requested by wishes
• Competitor must use the colours decided by Chief Judge earlier
• The hair extensions must be coloured in accordance to the colours decided by Chief Judge earlier
• The colours will be released just before the start of this module – Test B
• The Competitors must use these two colours but placement of these colours is Free Choice
• The Competitors must use a minimum 20grams of each colour. These colours cannot be mixed in
the bowl with another colour
• The two colours can be used on the mannequin and / or on the hair extensions
• Competitors can use colouring and de-colouring products

Hair Extensions:
• Competitors will be given Hair extension wefts just before the start of Test B
• The Competitors can choose how many extensions he/she uses. Competitor does not need to use
all extensions
• Competitors can segment the hair extensions
• Extensions must be coloured in this module - Test B
• Competitors can ONLY cut hair from the extensions once they have been placed in the hair
• Hair extensions will be used in Test B only

Finished Style:
• Competitors start the competition with the finished look from Test A unchanged
• All tools are allowed
• All styling products are allowed
• Finished look should be free choice

MODULE C - Ladies Catwalk and Session Styling - Photographic

Mannequin

TIME
1 Hour 15 Minutes + 5 Minutes

Description
Ladies’ Catwalk Design with Session styling will be done on mannequin. The finished result should look
like the hair could be seen on a catwalk/runway.
At the end of Module C, the Competitors will use their Mobile Phone to take photograph. Each Competitor
will have five mins to photograph, edit and load the photograph. The photo is to be edited and loaded on
Instagram.
At that time, they must choose the best photo that showcases their work, this can be from any angle as
you would see in a magazine or social media. The Competitors work must be photographed, edited and
saved within the five minutes using Instagram. The ONE photograph the Competitor chooses to save will
be judged.

Theme/Wishes:
Competitors will receive the Wishes for the look just before the start of Module C. The Competitor will
have fifteen minutes to think about the wishes then the module will start.
The wishes will be decided by the Chief Judge. These wishes will be released just before Test C starts
with a picture or pictures. Competitors must follow the clients wishes.

Wishes:
• Finished Style – Ornaments and form as close as possible to the picture
• Texture – Free Choice
• Photographic - Free Choice

Colour:
• No colouring allowed

Haircut:
• No cutting allowed

Finished Style:
• All Styling tools and thermal equipment are allowed in this module
• Combs, brushes, and clips are allowed throughout the test and on all parts of the hair
• All styling products are allowed
• Every type of ornament must be used
• Competitor MUST Use ornaments like they are in the picture
• Competitor must place ornament as close as possible and can cut what is not needed - excess
• It is Competitors free choice to create texture of the hair
• Must be as close as possible: ornaments and form
• Can use elastic bands
• No hairnets or fillers in this test
• Pins are allowed in this test
• Hair needs to be styled and secure for the client to walk around and wear the style

Photographic:
• A Mobile Phone will be used to take the photograph
• Instagram will be used to edit and load the photograph
• Competitors will have five minutes to take the photo, edit the photo and load the photo

MODULE D - Ladies Long Hair and Session Styling - Photographic

Mannequin

TIME
1 Hour 30 Minutes + 5 Minutes

Description
The finished result should be a long hair up with session styling, it should reflect the wishes of the client.
Module D will be done on a mannequin. The Competitors must use the supplied ornament in this Module.
The finished look should correspond to the brief for the module. This module cannot be in style of OMC.
At the end of Module D, the Competitors will use their Mobile Phone to take photograph. Each competitor
will have five minutes to photograph, Edit and load the photograph. The photo is to be edited and loaded
in Instagram.
In this time, they must choose the best photo that showcases their work, this can be from any angle as
you would see in a magazine or social media. The Competitors work must be photographed, edited and
saved within the five minutes using Instagram. The ONE photograph the Competitor chooses to save will
be judged.

• Texture – Free Choice
• Photographic – Free Choice

Colour:
• No Colouring allowed

Cutting:
• No Cutting allowed

Finished Result:
• All combs and brushes are allowed
• Bobby pins, pins, rubber bands are allowed
• Fillers and Hairnets are allowed
• All styling products are allowed
• Ornament will be provided
• The finished result must use the ornamentation provided – placement of the ornament is free choice
• It is Competitors free choice to create texture of the hair
• Must be as close as close as possible to the form in the picture
• Hair needs to be styled and secure for the client to walk around and wear the style

Photographic:
• A Mobile Phone will be used to take the photograph
• Instagram will be used to edit and load the photograph

MODULE E - Men’s Taper Cut and Beard

Mannequin

TIME
1 hour 20 mins

Description
Men’s traditional taper cut, beard and blow-dry will be performed on mannequin. Necklines and sides are
to be traditionally tapered/graduated. The haircut must reflect a commercial wearable style, worn by the
everyday man. Chief Judge will provide wishes for the haircut and beard with a picture.

Theme/Wishes:
Competitor will receive the Wishes for the look just before the start of Module E. The Competitor will have
fifteen minutes to think about the wishes then the module will start.
The wishes will be decided by Chief Judge. These wishes will be released just before Test E starts with a
picture or pictures. Competitors must follow the clients wishes.

Wishes:
• Haircut – As close as possible to the Picture
• Beard – Free Choice
• Finished Style – As close as possible to the picture

Haircut:
• Clippers can be used, but NOT clipper guards
• All other tools are allowed
• The first line of the neck and sides must be tapered to a Zero.
• Must respect the clients wishes

Beard:
• Clippers can be used, but NOT clipper guards
• All other tools are allowed
• Beard should be designed to best suit the client
• Whole beard cannot be taken off

Finished Style:

• All styling tools allowed

• Finished style must NOT reflect OMC
• Must follow clients wishes – Picture
• All styling products are allowed

MODULE F - Men’s Hairstyle

Mannequin

TIME
2 hours 30 mins

Description
The Competitor should create a commercial salon colour and haircut. Haircut and colour must reflect a
commercial hair design, worn by the everyday Male. Extreme avant-garde styles and OMC looks are NOT
allowed in this module.

Theme/Wishes:
Competitor will receive the Wishes for the look just before the start of Module F. The Competitor will have
fifteen minutes to think about the wishes then the module will start.
The wishes will be decided by the Chief Judge. These wishes will be released just before Test F starts
with a picture or pictures. Competitors must follow the clients wishes

Wishes:
• Haircut – As close as possible to the Picture
• Colour – As close as possible to the Picture
• Finished Style – As close as possible to the Haircut Picture

Haircut:
• Scissors and razors can be used
• No Clippers can be used.
• Must respect the clients wishes as shown in picture

Colour:
• All hair must be coloured
• Must be wearable Commercial colour
• Can ONLY use Topchic and/or Colorance
• All colour techniques are allowed
• Must respect client wishes as shown in picture
• NO Bleaching allowed in this module

Finished Style:
• All tools are allowed.
• Must respect client wishes as shown in picture
• All styling products are allowed

MODULE G - Chemical Reformation

Mannequin

TIME
2 Hours 30 minutes

DESCRIPTION
Men’s Chemical Reformation will be a PERM. Hair must be Permed, Cut, Coloured and styled. The
Competitors will use mannequin that has been used in Module F unchanged. The Competitor must
respect the clients wishes. This Module must reflect industry standards.

Theme/Wishes:
Competitor will receive the Wishes for the look just before the start of Module G. The Competitor will have
fifteen minutes to think about the wishes then the module will start.
The wishes will be decided by the Chief Judge. These wishes will be released just before Test G starts
with a picture or pictures. Competitors must follow the clients wishes.

Wishes:
• Haircut – As close as possible to the Picture
• Colour – As close as possible to the Picture
• Perm – As close as possible to the Picture
• Finished Style - As close as possible to the Picture

Perm:
• All perm rods with rubber can be used
• Rubber marks in the root and ends will be checked by Judge before blow- dry

Colour:
• Must use only Demi Permanent Colour – Goldwell Colorance
• Must respect the clients wishes as shown in picture
• All the hair must be coloured

Haircut:
• All cutting tools are allowed
• Must respect the clients wishes as shown in picture

Finished Style:
• All tools are allowed except curling tong and iron
• All products are allowed
• All clips, combes, and brushes are allowed during this module
• Must respect the clients wishes as shown in picture
