To,

The Australian High Commission,

Subject: Submission of statement for the purpose of study visa.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

About myself
It is a huge honour for me to introduce myself as Damanpreet Singh, the genuine resident Amritsar,Punjab,
India, and the son of Gurinder Singh and Sarbjit Kaur. The area where I live has the postal code 143001. I am
an Indian citizen who carries the passport number U1339717 as proof of my citizenship. I was born on May
30,2001, and I cherish my connections to my ancestors. I've always found today's advanced communications
and omnipresent technology to be fascinating. And in light of my interest, I have made the decision to enroll in
Federation University’s Bachelor of Information Technology degree for the 2023 intake.

Regarding my past education

Since I was a young teenager, I have always been a conscientious and punctual student when it comes to my
studies. With a 73.84% grade point average, I matriculated from Prim Roses English High School,in 2017. I
went on to complete my senior secondary education from Ajit Vidialay Senior Secondary School Ajitnagar,
Amritsar in the year 2019, getting a 67.1% overall, and all of my schools were affiliated with the Punjab School
Education Board. I completed my senior secondary in the science field, taking math as a subject along the way.
After completing my senior year of high school I also did an advanced 2 year diploma in computer application
& internet in the year 2020 and obtained an overall 82.7%. Later,I looked into my particular interests and made
a decision to proceed in that direction. I was intrigued to study abroad because I wanted to get exposure to
other cultures and earn a degree from a foreign university. I made the decision to continue my education
abroad, started studying for the IELTS exam, and took the final exam in July 2022. So, after making the
decision to continue my education abroad, I started preparing for the IELTS exam, whose final exam was taken
on 30 July 2022. My overall band score was 6.5, and my individual band scores are as follows:-
● listening module: 8.0
● speaking module: 6.0
● reading module: 6.5
● writing module:6.0

Why did I neglect my own country, India ?

India appears to lack an effective learning environment and sound research practices in school, especially
since IT is a subject that emphasises application, when my country is compared to Australia. It is extremely
difficult to acquire admission to one of the few universities in India that offers a bachelor's degree in information
technology because they only accept a few students in each intake after the entrance exams and other
conditions. Due to outmoded teaching methods, outdated systems, etc., many issues persist in the majority of
Indian colleges. Because most of our instructors are new to the profession and began teaching to gain
personal experience rather than to become trained teachers, India's educational system is not as reliable as
other countries because our teachers are less qualified. We are only exposed to literature and have limited
real-world experience. Because there aren't enough research facilities or internship opportunities, students are
clearly worse off when it comes to competing in the job market. In conjunction with foreign universities, a
handful of the institutes in our nation also offer updated level IT degrees, however those programs are not
accepted globally. In addition, the Bachelors degrees available in our own nation similarly give less weight to
the practical component. In addition to the nation comparison, I have also listed a few institutions and
universities in India that offer the same course, including
● Anna University
● Delhi technological University
● National Institute of technology
While comparing all of these universities, I found that the average cost of each degree is substantially greater
than I had expected. Since the course lasts for four years, additional time and money would be required to
finish it. Degrees with widespread acclaim are even more desired because paying for college is an investment
with a return. To qualify for the program, candidates must pass the DASA, JEE Main, and TNEA common
competitive exams. Not everyone will be able to pass the exam because of how difficult it is. I had no desire to
spend my valuable time on these entrance examinations because I knew how little chance I had of being
accepted, even after achieving required scores as well due to the quota/Reservation system that runs in India
also Indian colleges emphasise more theoretical forms of learning, I was also disinterested in enrolling there.
The educational system in other countries takes a more practical approach, which aids students in
understanding how to apply the theory they have learned. The return on investment for education when
studying abroad is significantly higher. After neglecting India, I made the decision to pursue my education
abroad.

What makes Australia top the chart among other countries ?

I knew I wanted to study abroad, but choosing a program proved to be difficult. But I'm appreciative of my
mentors for giving me the guidance I needed to choose the best location for me. As a consequence of my
research, I decided on Australia because it is a highly regarded country with a good standard of education.
Australia is home to prestigious universities with a record of providing top-notch instruction. The education
system has a good international reputation, is more career-focused, and practical, which can help students
prepare for the competitive job market and handle challenging situations at work. I'm drawn to Australia's
diverse and serene cities because they have high standards for health and safety, a low crime rate, far lower
living costs than the US and UK, good weather, and a welcoming environment for learning. Of the top 100
universities worldwide, seven are located in Australia. For overseas students, Australia has thousands of
courses offered at various universities, providing a wide range of study opportunities. In addition to this, the
Australian Government has given students all the resources they need and spends a significant sum of money
each year on an international scholarship that makes studying in Australia more affordable for foreign students.
All Australian institutions must register with CRICOS in order to ensure that we obtain a high-quality education.
Additionally, compared to most other countries, Australia has implemented regulations that are more forgiving
of students. Through a range of open opportunities and support services, international students like me have
benefited from the framework for Education Services for Overseas Students. This framework ensures that
international students' requirements for various educational and training services as well as their rights as
students are satisfied. Tuition Protection Service gives overseas students a customisable option for placement
and refund services. I also made a comparison between Australia and countries like the USA and Canada,
which let me spot any flaws and helped me make a decision. I searched online for similar programs in Canada
and the USA and discovered a few reputable universities there, including Wright State University and McGill
University, but I left them both due to their lengthy 4-year course lengths. Additionally, compared to Australia,
the tuition costs in both nations were somewhat greater. Australian education follows a similar pattern to that of
other developed nations, and admission procedures are less onerous. I made the decision to study in Australia
as a result since the program was three years long, the country had very low crime rates, the cost of living and
tuition were both reasonable, and there were more job opportunities for graduates.

Explaining the difference between other universities and settling for Federation
University
Prior to deciding to enrol at Federation University, I did research on a number of Australian universities,
focusing on those that offered bachelor's degrees in information technology, and took into account a variety of
factors, such as cost, location, course structure, etc. Among the colleges I compared are some of the following:

Course Program Fee(yearly) Duration Location Rank

ranking
I went into detail and compared each institution of higher learning in Australia that offered a bachelor's degree
in computer technology based on ranking, cost, location, and admissions requirements. I did a lot of research
and found that there was a big difference in the courses that were offered at all of these universities. The
course curriculum and program at Federation University, however, were designed in a way that gives students
a practical approach to their studies. The university has been named among the top 250 young universities in
the world by Times Higher Education 2021 rankings.Continuing the conversation about program expenses,
Federation University once again stood out by offering the same program at a fair price. A less priced course
provider offering a comparable course would unquestionably win out over a vendor charging a comparable
premium for the same course. Ballarat was the best place for me to visit while I was studying in Australia, so I
made the decision to research every ballarat service provider. I can therefore firmly say that Federation
University is the best fit for me after conducting a thorough comparison. It offers a variety of courses and
programs, which makes it flexible in its own right. It has established itself as the best alternative for
international students due to its extensive diversity. The university has also been ranked #1 in Victoria for
graduate outcomes for six years running by various organisations. It also offers top-notch facilities,
state-of-the-art amenities, and cutting-edge technology to students. The method of instruction is also quite
good in terms of academic and practical knowledge. The educators are devoted to providing their kids with the
best education they can, and they are very disciplined and professional. To celebrate the ambition and
achievements of international students, Federation University Australia offers a range of scholarships
supporting students to succeed. The university also provides a dedicated International Student Support team
who are committed to providing all international students with support, engagement and community links. The
Federation University Australia has made it its mission to make a real difference in the lives of every student
who studies at the university. It provides Access to industrial placements with some of the top companies in the
nation and around the world. Every course includes hands-on learning opportunities to help students develop
their confidence and boost their employability. I decided to pursue my bachelor's degree at Federation after
carefully considering all the benefits of the school.

What drew me towards the Bachelor of Information technology program ?

I had to choose a degree after completing my higher secondary education because it would determine how I
would continue my education in the future. I had a lot of ideas, but I wanted to concentrate on the one about
which I was most enthusiastic. I've always been interested in computer science, and while I was in school, I
learned the fundamentals of computers. It has always been my favourite subject, and I love picking up new
knowledge. The more I learned about how electronically entwined every organisation, institution, and industry
in the modern period is, the more fascinated I became. IT is currently a prerequisite for society's efficient
operation and largely deals with the security and control of data communicated via electronic devices and the
related applications. There are several job opportunities available after receiving an information technology
degree. My background in information technology will equip me with the theoretical knowledge, analytical
capabilities, and effective communication talents I need to work successfully with software engineers. I'll be
studying about a host of different topics that will broaden my career options.
The program has a three-year full-time duration and will begin in the year 2023. I am knowledgeable that the
program will cost an estimated AUD $25100 per year in tuition. Following are the subjects that i will study
during the program
Information Technology Subjects
SUBJECTS
● Understanding the digital revolution
● Communications And Technology
● It problem solving
● Big data Analytics
● System modelling
● Web design
● User experience and others.
https://study.federation.edu.au/course/DCT5.NSM one can go through this link to get an in-depth
understanding about the subjects.
By the time I graduate, I must have earned 360 credit points to complete the course of study.
Throughout the program, I will develop strong communication, academic, programming and problem-solving
skills and critical attributes for success in the IT sector. The acquired skills will help me facilitate smooth
communication with software developers in web design, systems modelling and user experience.

Why i decided to choose Ballarat ?

Ballara is one of Australia's most attractive cities, and there are plenty of things to do there when I have free
time. Everyone needs some enjoyment in addition to their academics, and when I become bored, I never lack
for things to do. Australia is renowned for its rich laneway culture, which is home to crowded shopping malls,
live music venues, relaxing book cafes, and other businesses. Ballarat is in northern Victoria and has a rich
history, stunning heritage-listed architecture and wide streets. It is one of Australia's fastest growing inland
cities. Part of Victoria’s goldfield region it has a rich history, Ballarat also hosts a range of events, festivals,
activities and attractions which i will enjoy whenever i ll get time the city is also alive with a variety of
restaurants, cafes and bars. Following are some more points on which I decided to choose Ballarat as my
study city.
● Affordability
● Strong community spirit
● Relaxed lifestyle
● Easy to get around
● Job opportunities
● Local surroundings

Future opportunities in India upon completion

An information technology degree could be very useful in the near future. A bachelor's in information
technology is a suitable degree that equips you with the required skills and opens up a wide range of career
options. Career opportunities improve in tandem with the expansion of the IT industry. If I go back to my home
country, there is a lot of places for bright and competitive applicants in the different relevant communication
and computer systems disciplines. There is a big need for highly skilled workers in a developing country like
ours. Because they can come up with innovative solutions that will benefit both individuals and organisations,
young people who are knowledgeable about technology and communication systems are in high demand.
Following are some career opportunities in my home country as well as abroad after the course:-
● Applications developer
● Business intelligence officer
● Communications officer
● Computer engineer
● Computer systems engineer
● Data warehouse administrator
● Database administrator
Big companies continue to seek a qualified person to oversee a variety of initiatives for the development and
expansion of their many businesses. I'll be seeking jobs in a number of industries after acquiring a bachelor's
degree, and I'm hoping for a competitive salary. There are several MNCs and specialised job descriptions
accessible for those with an IT degree. Many industries with names like technology, communications,
education, finance, government, and healthcare have come to my attention. The information technology
industry, which also regulates the day-to-day operations of organisations, is where the majority of new jobs
being produced in the market today are located. There are also some reputable employers for graduates in
information technology, but these should never be taken into account. There are MNCs looking for competent
specialists and graduates to join. WIPRO, TCS, and COGNIZANT are a few of the most well-known companies
in the globe.
All of these respectable companies seek candidates who can perform their obligations and responsibilities in
the most effective and efficient way.
In India, the starting salary ranges from Rs. 2 to 9 lakhs per year, while the maximum is unbounded.
Additionally, this industry has experienced some solid growth that is based on a person's capacity. A skilled or
knowledgeable worker can earn up to six figures of income quickly.

My sponsors
My family has given me their complete financial and emotional support as I pursue a degree in Australia. They
are adamant that money spent on education is never frittered away. They have always assisted me in
achieving my objectives. They are providing all of the funding required for my study visa. They can simply
manage all the funds and expenses because they have a strong financial base. I've attached copies of the
financial document verification I have in my file. I'll try my best to put all I've learnt to use and to be as
productive as possible. I will use my professional experience, expertise, and exposure to promote my entire
country because India has a need for qualified IT graduates.
I want to finish my higher education at Federation University and then return to India to work at some of the
best institutions there. The future of my profession in this nation is likewise highly bright, and these institutions
are currently among India's fastest-growing industries. In a similar spirit, I hope to be able to work for major
organisations and compete on a global basis.

Where will I live ?

I wish to accommodate myself in a close knit apartment with reasonable weekly wages. There are many
apartments about which I came to know while searching
www.amberstudent.com www.unilodge.com.au and these include all the facilities and basic requirements. I
would be willing to pay an average amount because I don't want to burden my parents with high costs of living.
Past travel report and justification of gap
I've never intended to travel internationally, thus my passport hasn't been stamped, and my trip history is
empty. Hopefully, this will be my first time visiting another country for scholarly purposes. I had the idea to
study abroad this year after finishing my advanced diploma, but I wasn't sure of the ideal location, my desired
curriculum, or which college to enrol in. In order to avoid making a hasty choice, I chose to consult the
counsellor and several of my friends who were studying abroad before making a choice. I gave Australia a lot
of thinking, and that's where I'm going. In addition, I prepared for the IELTS exam. I studied hard and took the
IELTS exam in 2022 after obtaining months of guidance.

Conclusion
I'll abide by all laws and regulations in Australia. And I won't take any actions that would be illegal in Australia.
I've listed below the rules and requirements of the visa subclass 500 that I am aware of:
● I am only permitted to work a maximum of 40 hours per week while the course is in session.
● I must refrain from any criminal activity while I'm in Australia.
● I am required to give the education provider seven days' notice if my address or other contact
information changes.
● I need to have health insurance while I'm in Australia, which I can do by purchasing Overseas Student
Health Cover (OSHC).

I certify that I am a thoughtful person and that I will complete my program within the time limit promised, in
compliance with the visa criteria for overseas students. Any laws or rules will not be broken by me. A reputable
and well-known Australian institution will be a privilege for me to join. I'm hoping you'll respond to me positively.

Yours sincerely,
DAMANPREET SINGH
