Trinity High School School Blog Week Ending 25th August 2023

Dear Parent / Carer,

I am delighted to share with you the first blog of this academic session. The purpose of the blog is to
give a brief overview of the week’s events and look forward to upcoming events. I wrote to you last
week with a short update for the start of term and I am pleased to say Week 2 has also been a
success. It continues to be pleasing to see so many young people engaged in their learning. As always
the best way to remain up to date with school matters is to follow our school Twitter (or X) page, our
monthly parental newsletters and our school website (more later). I look forward to
publishing these blogs on a regular basis and celebrating all of the success and achievements of our
young people.

Best wishes,

P. Marshall
Head Teacher

New School Website

We are delighted to share with you news of out new school website. The website continues to be
under construction but any new material will be posted on the site. The old website will remain
live for a period of crossover but will be taken down soon to avoid any confusion. I am excited
about the launch of this new resource for families, pupils and staff and believe it will be a
welcome addition to our ever expanding suite of communication tools. Thank you to parents,
pupils and staff who have contributed to the consultation on the website content. If you feel
something is missing from the site please do not hesitate to get in touch with the school.

SQA Success
Well done to pupils in last year’s S4—S6 for their excellent outcomes in the recent SQA
Examinations Diet. As a school we are proud of the individual achievements of every young
person and the suite of qualifications and achievements they have gained.

Of particular note we should acknowledge that the Pass Rates at National 5 and Higher remain
above the Renfrewshire and National Average. The number of students gaining 1 or more
Advanced Higher has also increased significantly in 2023.

In addition to the wide range of SQA Qualifications gained it has been pleasing to see more
available options through the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework. Young people have
achieved in a range of levels from Level 3 up to Level 6 in areas such as Science, Literacy &
Communication, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Volunteering, First Aid and Leadership. This year
more courses (including courses at level 7) have been added in areas such as Electronics, Barista
Skills and Refereeing.

I would like to once again congratulate the young people on their fantastic achievements and
thank yourselves as parents and carers for your continued support of the school.
