Problem Statement Marks

Select any system of your choice, either mathematical model or Laplace model, and perform
the following:

1. Give a brief explanation of the system


2. Sketch its complete block diagram and derive its transfer function.
3. Using pole zero map of the system elaborate the system’s response and stability.
4. Analyze and comment on the system’s stability in its frequency domain using Bode
plot.
5. Carry out root locus analysis and determine its stability
6. Response of the system without any controller.
7. Response of the system with P, PI, PD, PID controllers, using at least 3 values of gains 100
for each.
8. Discuss the effect of P, PI and PID controllers on system response and compare the
results.
9. Design a suitable lead, lag, lead-lag compensator with 8% overshoot and settling time
of 0.85 seconds.
