English Assignment Introduction
We all have different personalities, talents and interests, and each of us would
characterise ourselves differently. I consider myself to be a friendly, trustworthy,
and introverted person. My name is Abhisek Mishra, and I live with my family in the
temple city of India – Bhubaneswar. My father is the manager of his company's
eastern India division, and my mother is a teacher. I come from a caring family,
with people who will forego their meals to serve someone else. These experiences
have taught me the importance of caring for others and making them feel valued
and heard. I don't follow any particular person as my role model. I try to pick up
something from everyone. However, one learns the most from the people one
spends most of his time with. In my case, as must be in many others too, they are
my parents. My parents have always provided me with a protective atmosphere and
mentored me through every stage of my life. My father is an excellent manager of
people and money, though not time. He can convince and persuade people in such
a way that they listen to him with trust. This is the skill that I most readily want to
acquire from him. The qualities that I have learnt from my father are patience and
people management skills. My mother, being a teacher, is also very patient, polite
and considerate. She always tries to look at situations from the opposite person's
perspective, giving the other a fair chance and an idea of the situation. From my
mother, I have learnt things like giving importance to people, being polite and, on
top of everything, being punctual.
I never pursued bookish knowledge, and it is certainly true that only a book doesn't
let you have sufficient experience and knowledge about the practical world. I've
always attempted to put everything I've learned into practice. For example, in
seventh grade, we learned about the cardiovascular system. After the class, our
teacher instructed us to create a project based on it. Most of my classmates had
created written projects; however, my father and I remained up until 1 a.m. and
built a functioning model of the circulatory system. My father's assistance in
situations like this was invaluable. My mother taught me to be strong in the face of
adversity and to stay motivated. It is truly said that ambience judges your
capability. Seeing my mother being very punctual and dedicated to her profession
has taught me to value time. It was only because of her efforts that I am here, in
this college. She has always pushed me to pursue my passions. She has valued my
opinion so much that when I deferred from her dream of me becoming a doctor,
she sacrificed her dream and let me choose my path. This is the greatest sacrifice
anyone could ever make for me, and I will be eternally grateful to her. Also, when
we think of family, the following people that come to mind are our friends. Friends'
contributions should never be overlooked. I have always had the support of my few
pals who stick with me through wet and dry. My friends encouraged me to explore
myself even when I was in school. So, overall, I'm satisfied with my surroundings
and grateful to God for gifting me with such a supportive environment in my life.
My hobbies include music, travelling and learning about mechanical watches. I've
grown to appreciate indie musicians and their music over the years. Listening to
music feels like I'm treating and nurturing my soul. And when presented with the
opportunity to travel while listening to my favourite music, I never pass it up.
Although I don't get to travel much, I relish every moment I get to. My fascination
with timepieces began when I discovered that some watches, known as mechanical
watches, operate without a battery, only with the use of gears, springs, and
weights. For me, it felt like magic, like a watch with an actual heart that could
function independently. Something that isn't flawless but doesn't have to be. It was
distinctive in its own right. I was so taken with it that I dug deep and discovered a
passion for it.
Growing up, I did not know who or what I wanted to be. I was always busy
experimenting with people and observing how they reacted to different emotions
and scenarios. The past two years of the COVID chaos have helped me frame many
perspectives and opinions towards people and society. It also provided much free
time for learning and discovering new things. This was when I found my passion for
studying business and related topics. I am sure that my degree will be my passport
to a brighter future. I aspire to become a well-known business personality. I try to
study diligently and spend my leisure time viewing case studies and interviews of
prominent experts in the field. To get a hand-on experience of the business world, I
joined AIESEC. Joining AIESEC as an intern has given me a glimpse of how the
business world functions. It has provided me with the exposure that many people
aspire to have. As an intern, my responsibilities involve researching firms, obtaining
their contact information, and, lastly, approaching them to submit a business
proposal. This allows me to strengthen my communication and leadership skills
while also expanding my network and networking abilities.
I've come to believe that there are two crucial factors that determine success. The
first is a person's drive and ambition to succeed. Are you willing to make
compromises in order to reach your objective, such as working and studying at the
same time? Are you prepared to recover after failure and proceed to your goal
again? It is not easy to achieve success without solid internal motivation. It is also
essential to have the support of those around you. Being motivated to succeed does
not imply alienating everyone and stomping on others to get there. Success, on the
other hand, is about admitting your flaws and taking aid from individuals who
sincerely want to help you. For instance, if it were not for my parents' support of
my educational endeavours, I might not be attending business school today.
