Summary:

Using online platforms to cope up in the new normal set up of classes and other
purposes to communicate.
In this video lesson, one of the online platforms introduces by the speaker is the Mentimeter
(www.mentimeter.com ), it helps our students to interact and engage to our lesson even we’re
cannot interact with them physically. They can give answer by clicking the websites and the
results of surveys will appear on the screen and the students will be able to inform the result.
This is why online platforms are good in terms of teaching and learning process because it gives
transparency and self-assessment in order for you to be aware of everything during your
learning process and assess on your progress as a learner.
There are different types of online platforms that are useful in having online classes, such as:
Google meet, Google Classroom, Google slides/ Docs/ Spreadsheets, Google form, Google
drives, Hangouts, Google extensions. These are the online platforms that makes the learners to
interacts and communicate during classes and it is said to be the most convenient tools that is
easy to used. In addition, these online platforms are downloadable and you can use it with your
cellphone, desktop computer, laptop and other gadgets.
The other tool is zoom, in which the teacher can have make classes with live audience through
joining the class through clicking the link. On the other hand, using this kind of platform may
costly to the students. Since it is online, a strong connection in WiFi is required to be updated
and spend money to buy load for your connection to be connected on your online class.
It only shows that online platforms can give you advantages and disadvantages, but it is normal
to have these consequences since nothing in this world is perfect.
