    I. RATIONALE
    It is a group discussion about the project of the Department of
    Education for the students who are struggling in Math which is also known
    as the Project AN (All-Numerates). It aims to inform the parents of the
    non-numerates about the current status of their children in terms of
    numeracy.

    II. ACTIVITY INFORMATION


    The parents started arriving at 8:00 in the morning. The discussion started
    at exactly 9:00 AM. The group discussion focused on the projects of the
    Department of Education in improving numeracy and literacy of the students.
    Parents were oriented with the problems encountered by the teachers in
    teaching Math and in reading. Teachers suggested some interventions like
    remedial class and home monitoring. Parents were also encouraged to
    embrace their responsibility of taking their part as the first teacher of their
    children at home. The activity ended at 11:00 AM.

    III. PARTICIPANTS

    The group discussion was attended by 66 parents and 12 teachers.
